Captain Wayne is a generational fisherman, extremely familiar with local fishing techniques and honey-holes. He is constantly researching the movements of salmon and halibut in the area, always updating maps and communicating noted changes with fellow fisherman. Wayne is committed to widening his understanding of salmon and halibut lifecycles and habits, and is always looking to deepen his understanding of local waters. Wayne has a history of outdoor leadership, having lead all-age, long term canoe trips for over 10 years. Wayne is uniquely able to exude infectious feelings of confidence and positivity while fishing, encouraging celebration and excitement while on board. Wayne is fantastic with children of all ages, and is able to get kids safely involved in fishing activities if they desire. Wayne volunteers at a local Salmon hatchery, and is avidly familiar with salmon lifecycles, habits, feeding preferences, and migratory movements. Wayne is always keen to spread this knowledge to his customers, and will implement his research in an effort to catch more, bigger fish. Chris was born and raised on Vancouver Island and has been an avid fisherman for decades. He has fished on several commercial salmon trollers and has spent countless hours on the ocean, from the southern end of Vancouver Island to the northern tip of Haida Gwaii, fishing for salmon and halibut. After spending years hiking in local and remote areas of Vancouver Island, he is continually working to expand his abundance of knowledge pertaining to the local flora and fauna. Chris has a deep affection for nature and is a volunteer for the local fish hatchery, working towards the respectful stewardship of local salmon populations. Chris is energized by sharing his enthusiasm for fishing with all ages and looks forward to seeing you have a great adventure on board! Captain Wayne and Captain Chris are both certified Charter Captains as per Skilled Trades BC guidelines, and both carry the following official credentials: - MED A 3 now called SDV-BS (small domestic vessel basic safety course) - ROC-M radio (Marine restricted radio) - Wilderness First Aid - Marine Basic First Aid - CPR Level C - SVOP (Small Vessel Operator Proficiency course) - Sport Fishing Institute of BC Registered Certified Tidal Angling Guide . - Fully insured vessel, and as a captain, for liability and damages. - Boat is fully certified by Transport Canada to ensure it's sea worthiness, stability and safety, and receives consistent maintenance. - Boat is fully equipped with all safety and live saving gear recommended by Transport Canada.

    Amazing day on the water!

    Afternoon Half Day- Salmon Trolling • 4 adults • 2 children

    We had a great day with Wayne out on the water! He was patient and easygoing with us as relatively inexperienced people with this type of fishing. As an added bonus he had a couple of crab traps we set as we headed out and collected on the way back in. We are feasting on crab tonight and have about 90 lbs of salmon to process and ship home. We highly recommend booking a charter with Wayne for high probability of a good haul and one hundred percent probability of having a really great time.

    Afternoon Half Day- Halibut Jigging • 5 adults

    We had an amazing fishing trip with Captain Chris! None of us had any fishing experience, but Chris made us feel comfortable and confident from the very beginning. He was incredibly patient, friendly, and fun to spend the day with. He took the time to answer all of our questions professionally, explained everything clearly, and was always ready to help. His enthusiasm and knowledge made the entire experience enjoyable and stress-free. The highlight of the trip was catching five salmon to keep, which made the day even more exciting! Thanks to Captain Chris’s guidance and hard work, we had an unforgettable adventure. If you’re looking for a fishing charter, we highly recommend Captain Chris. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced angler, you’ll be in great hands. We had such a fantastic time, and we will definitely be back for another trip!

    Full day halibut trip with Wayne

    Full Day Trip – Halibut Jigging

    We dropped a couple crab traps, then spent most of the day jigging for halibut and finished off the day trolling for salmon. We caught two monster halibut, and even though it was a bit early in the season we landed a good size salmon too. Wayne was a great captain, obviously very experienced and knowledgeable and answered all of our many questions. An all around chill dude 🤙 We had a blast. I cannot recommend Full Melt Charters enough. The only downside was now my girlfriend keeps asking why we don’t have a boat. Lol thanks a lot Wayne we’ll see you next time!

    Such a beautiful night!!

    2 Hour Quick Trip - Salmon Trolling • 3 adults

    We met Chris at Jock’s! He was all ready for us! We jumped on the boat, went out and set two crab traps and with in an hour and twenty mins caught seven fish and were able to keep four! We had a blast! My kids loved the sporty night on the waves! We came back to the sea lions greeting us! Chris bagged our crab and salmon and we’re planning a fish fry tonight!! Amazing experience!! Thank you so much!!
