In town for packer/jaguar game and booked a 3hr evening inshore trip (5pm-8pm).  Had an absolute blast with Todd.  This was a special weekend for my group as my dad and 1 were celebrating my son’s 12th birthday on this trip and I don’t think we could have gotten a more perfect captain.  He truly made it feel like we were old fishing buddies and not people he just met.  Shared his knowledge of fishing, was great with my son, and made us feel at home on his boat.

When it comes to carpet trips catching fish is never guaranteed.  I book a fair amount of trips around the country so I know that the captain can do everything right but fish just might not bite but I was just hoping for my dad and son to each get a fish.  Within 15 minutes my son had a nice Jack that ended up being the fight of his life.  After that is was pretty much non-stop fish for till the sun went down and the trip concluded.  I’ve never had a more action packed charter trip.

The fishing was great but the part that made the night even better was the experience Todd provided us with.  You can’t control the bite but you can control being a great captain and person and Todd exceeded my expectations on all fronts.

Thank you todd for providing us memories with my dad and son that we will remember long after we go back up north to the cold Wisconsin temps.

We booked with Tod Rod Fishing Charters and immediately had a response with a confirmation . Then the morning of my captain messaged me 45 minutes before the trip and said he had boat trouble while out getting live bait for our trip . Obviosly we were disappointed and thought we wouldnt be fishing that day, but Todd immediately was on the ball getting another captain to cover our charter . This was totally something he didnt have to do . But he didnt stop there , he went out on the new charter with us as a mait for the new captain and also brought all the bait he had caught earlier that morning and was getting no compensation for any of this. Altogether the trip turned out great and would book with either captain again .

We have been surf fishing all week and not having great luck. Fish weren’t hitting much. Got to go on the 4 hour trip and we caught a big beautiful Red. We had a sting ray and trout also. We had a blast! Such a wonderful captain and we can’t wait to book again!

Captain Todd was a fantastic guide and facilitator during our afternoon outing with him. We explored books and crannies, went pretty far out to sea, then came back and fished off the bridge in St. Augustine. We saw dolphins, but no fish until the very end when he hooked a Black Drum and handed me the rod. That doesn’t count as my catch, but it was great to at least see one fish! We sent him back and ended the day!

This was our second time fishing with Captain Todd. We decided to do only sport fishing. We caught 8 different species of fish. The most thrilling part was catching a bonnethead shark. I reeled in a 3 footer and my husband reeled in a 4 footer. It was very exciting. It is always a fun time with Captain Todd!! We plan to come back again next year! Thanks Captain Todd for another great experience!
