This event took place on September 15-17 2023 with 3 incredible days of fishing for the Roatide team catching a total of 6 wahoo and accumulation of 173 points making it to the top spot within 73 boats on this years tournament. Hard work and dedication paid off, the guys were ready and prepared and did not ever feel too confident to sleep on it for a minute. We did our best to take this 1st place prize home this year and thank God we did it! Thanks to all that participated, we look forward to next year!

Offshore Fishing Trip

We caught barracudas, blackfin tuna, bonito, rainbow runner and red snappers on our half day morning fishing trip, with our clients from the cruise ship. And then had it cooked up for them to enjoy their fresh catch at local restaurant after fishing.

My goodness, to start, the water and forestry in Roatan is absolutely beautiful! We got the best views from our Captains’ boat! We started out our adventure by catching Tuna, and Skip Jack, our bait. Honestly, we were looking forward to the Tuna and the captain actually made us Sashimi with it and sided it with delicious local pineapple (best we’ve ever had). I had taken my kids and grandkids out in some great waters (Cabo, Nassau, and Cozmel) and got skunked 3 times in a row. I told Captain Lewis that my grandkids were loosing interest, and they just wanted to catch fish, I didn’t care what kind. Capt. Lewis is a tournament fisherman, but also a dad. We had a great time. Fun for the whole family. Captain taught us how to fly fish and after a lil instruction we caught the first bonefish! Then a snapper and a couple jacks. The highlight was a 3’ barracuda that put up about a 10 minute fight and right as I got it to the boat slipped away! We obtain some island history, information about crabs that we had seen the day before and snorkeled! We should have booked an 8 hour expedition!
