We had a lot of kids (10) and 5 adults who wanted to catch and see some big shark so knowing the bite was slow and the beach would be a ghost town so we put out a mega spread (11rods!!) from the up close in the surf with the light tackle to 600 plus yards off the beach with big reels. We ended up go 3/4 on large sharks on the trip. The biggest shark was a sandbar shark over 7ft the other two sharks were sandtiger sharks close to 5ft. Everyone took turns fighting the fish, big fish are a challenge and a lot of work. The big fish was caught on the 600 yd drop thats over a third of a mile!!! Talk about a sea monster. The meduim sized tackle produced the two 4-5 ft sand tigers which put up a good fight on that tackle. The surf casting was producing whiting, a smaller fish that is common in the surf and fished with lighter tackle.

The fishing has fully switched over to the fall pattern. A mix of sharks, rays and redfish have been caught on the most recent trips. The sandbar sharks have been the most common catch with their size ranging from about 3-7ft with some of them putting up some real fights. The warm weather lately really has the fish fired up and has extended out season. A good time to come fish before the season ends in a few weeks

Some picks from the first week of october. Most the trips lately have been producing multiple species and big fish each trip with the red fish bite being very good and the fall sharks showing up and putting up some heavy fights. Day fishing and night fishing has been excellent

We had a tough time aligning fishing days and good weather and had to cancel a lot of trips in August do to high storm winds, current and thunderstorms at times. The trips we have been making it out on have been pretty good fishing. We are catching lots of sharks in the 3-5 ft range some in the 6-8 ft range and some big big giant ones too. Most nights we have been catch 3-5 different species of sharks but right now we have 11 different species of sharks from 3-13ft in our water which makes it even more fun because you never know which one youll catch.
