Captain James was a great guide with a nice boat and we caught a lot of fish. Highly recommend!

My dad and I did a Fathers Day trip with James. We had an awesome time and caught a bunch of fish!

He started us out going for striped bass and my dad caught one solid fish, biggest bass he’s caught probably ever!  They weren’t biting great that morning tho, so after a couple hours and a few different spots he switched it up and we started going for cat fish.  Immediately we started catching some good fish and getting a ton of bites.  Eventually that spot slowed down and he brought us to another spot where we caught prolly 15 catfish in an hour, it was awesome! 

He then took us to another spot and we caught a bunch more catfish including a couple of lunkers!  It was an awesome experience and would highly recommend it. It started slow, but he said “well keep going until we find some fish” and he wasn’t lying!

Full-service, friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable charter operator that made sure every member of the party was having a good time and had what they needed at all times to catch catfish.

My Dad and my two young sons did an afternoon 5-hour afternoon fishing charter and I wasn’t sure how the boys would hold out. Mr. Macik was personable and engaging with the kids, taking time to show them fishing techniques, and gentle in his guidance so the boys wanted to listen. A real teacher! Even taught them a few fish calls so we landed the 20 pound Hoover blue channel cat. Everyone was smiling and laughing from start to finish. My Dad got to telling all his fish stories.

Be sure to take the filets of your catch that Mr. Macik sends you off the boat with right over to North Lake Grill by the boat ramp at Stow-A-Way Marina and ask to have them fried up. Take good care of the tip jar there and enjoy the cleanest and freshest fish on Lake Conroe.

We’ve already booked our second charter - for my oldest son’s birthday!

Not being from this area we didn’t know which guide to choose.  We chose a great one!!
On a very cold day in January we ended up having a great time while catching Hybrid Stripers, Channel cat, and Blue catfish. 
James was awesome - put us on fish everywhere we fished.  He obviously knows this lake very well - and he is super friendly and fun to go out with. 
He has an obvious passion for making sure his clients have a great day out on the water regardless of the weather!!
Highly recommend James for anyone wanting a very fun and productive trip on Lake Conroe!!!
