I'm Captain Rich Damianos and I have been fishing the keys and cuts of Charlotte Harbor for more than 10 years. Born in Newport, Rhode Island and raised in the Finger Lakes of Central New York, I cut my teeth fishing both salt and fresh water. As a tournament angler with FLW and Bassmasters, I have learned to refine my fish finding skills. These skills are what I teach on every guided trip. When you fish Charlotte Harbor with me, you will catch fish, learn some techniques, and have a great time. I am a USCG Licensed Master, Florida Licensed Charter Captain, NYS Licensed Public Vessel Operator and Guide, and certified in First Aid and CPR. I am a father of 2 and considered by others to be an excellent guide, educator, and a pleasure to fish with. I work well with kids, beginners, and seasoned anglers alike. Most of all, I work for you.

Fishing has been great for just about everything that swims in Charlotte Harbor over the last couple weeks. Speckโ€™s have been crushing artificials and live baits alike and catches of 50- 100 a trip are common providing steady action and a nice fish fry for everyone. Our Redfish Special trips have been very popular since we started this offering and clients like Kurt and Haylie took advantage of the opportunity to knuckle down on some truly exciting Redfish action. What a great time to be fishing on charlotte harbor. Trout and Redfish ha e been the star of the show this week. Good numbers on trout with 100 fish on a typical 1/2 day charter. Outstanding redfish have been caught on our redfish special boat as well.

Every thing fishing is getting back to normal after our one week of winter here in Punta Gorda and southwest Florida. Calm seas and warming waters are making for some excellent fishing. Good catches of Redfish are happening for those who choose our Redfish Special which is a great option for anyone looking to target this great fish. Stuart and Jannet had a great day on yesterdayโ€™s boat with hot action all trip including multiple doubles on the Reds and some bonus Sheepshead mixed in. Trout continue to provide fun action for everyone with good numbers coming over the rails every trip. Small sharks are starting to mix in and provide for some exciting reel screaming action and of course a great photo opp. Whether you choose our four hour, Captinโ€™s Choice or our six hour Redfish Special youโ€™re sure to be in the action and enjoying everything. Captain Rich of Reel Rich Fishing Charters fishing out of Burnt Store Marina in Punta Gorda,FL reported very good fishing on Charlotte Harbor this week. There has been a good run on Sheepshead this week with Specks , Redfish, and mangrove snappers all active in Charlotte Harbor as our early winter fishery is now in full swing. As water temperatures dropped considerably over the past week fishing has remained very active. The Sea Trout are showing up in their usual patterns and with good numbers and size. Trips have been swinging fish over the rails in good numbers making for exciting action for everyone. Redfish have been adding a lot of excellent action on each trip and they are absolutely fun to catch. Very nice black drum have also been caught as by catch While targeting a multi species bite. A few snook and Spanish mackerel have been offering some of drag screaming excitement each day. **Reel Rich Fishing Charter - Punta Gorda, Florida - Fishing Report for the Week Ending January 5, 2025** This week, Captain Rich experienced some of the best fishing Charlotte Harbor has seen in months. We've had a varied itinerary, with some clients choosing our Redfish/Sheepshead Special and others going for the Captain's Choice. **Redfish/Sheepshead Special:** The Redfish bite has been outstanding, reminiscent of the October run. Sheepshead have been plentiful, adding to the excitement. Notably, Ian from Canada caught his first redfish ever, a hefty 32-inch, 14-pound specimen. Most of the redfish caught were at the upper end of the slot limit. **Captain's Choice:** Focusing on Sea Trout, we've had incredible success, with many charters exceeding 100 fish per day. Spanish Mackerel are still around, along with ladyfish and a scattering of bluefish.
