I have been on just about every type of ocean fishing trip. Our trip with Captain Esley is among the best. We caught fish all day, several different techniques. Yellow snapper, barracuda, mackerel and he even took me diving for lobster. On the way out we swam with nurse sharks and sting rays. This was my first time to Belize and I will be coming back, probably every year. And you better bet I am booking my fishing trips with Esley every time!

These small boats are just not good for deep sea fishing. Rough and uncomfortable.

Captain was nice, but never really took the time to explain the what to expect, how the day could go, what fish we are looking for, how the equipment works, etc. We also barely did anything ourselves he kind of just fishes and were just watching, definitely expected more for $300USD. We caught a few little snappers but that wasn’t my issue, you can’t always expect to catch a ton of fish.

For the price, the experience really wasn’t what we expected.  The boat was small and old, and the Captain hardly said 3 words the entire trip.  He was nice enough, but just would not engage and really only put us on fish in one spot, which was just some that were too small to really keep.  I think he did that so we felt like we caught something.  We did get a couple barracuda trolling, but I caught more fish off the hotel dock than we did with him.  We heard from another captain that...
