Captain Brody was knowledgeable and worked hard to ensure we had a good experience. We cleaned 15 walleye and threw as many back that were 1/8 inch too short.  This was a birthday present for my son and Grandson.  My Grandson wanted to learn the details about trolling, and Brody explained the technique and equipment used to catch Walleye and talked about how Walleye fishing changes throughout the season.  This memorable trip will be referred to often in days to come.

This was a gift for my husband and son! I split it with a friend who sent her husband and son! What a great experience they all had! They were able to bring home 12 total Walleye, 6 for each family!

My son had never been on a charter before and all he wanted was to bring home a fish and eat it! He was thrilled with the results of both!

My son and I have been going to Vermillion every year since he was born but this time our 15 year old kid wanted to do something different. A fishing Charter! So we look at reviews, prices and locations and found Captain Sloppy Joe. It turned out to be a memorable Event.
There was no rest on the boat! The captain had us catching fish through the 4 plus hours on the boat. We caught 11 legal sized Walleye(one short of the Max) and a perch. We caught many more fish but they were here too small(walleye)—you don’t eat them(huge sheephead) and a few big Catfish. So we were always reeling in something. The trip was really amazing. The captain did so much work to make our trip enjoyable. I don’t think I even got my hands dirty. We had 6 poles at various depths on the charter so there was really no down time. There was also something to do or something to reel in! The captain took us to some jackpot areas and away from other boats so he certainly knew were to go. He was also super fun/had a great personality and really interacted with us. He gave us some great pointers, give us some history and facts about Vermillion and fishing that I had no idea about.
I booked this trip mainly due to the reviews and hopefully this review will give you confidence to book with Captain Sloppy Joe!
The boat is small enough that if it hits waves…:you will feel it. Outside that…really no issue
