Background
Captain Andy is a USCG OUPV 25 ton Captain with Inshore & Offshore Masters endorsement who has been fishing his whole life. Having grown up originally in New York, he began fishing with his father in Moriches Bay, Sheepshead Bay, off the shore in Rockaway, NY and with his Father In-Law, Paul, off Montauk Point. At 26, the Captain moved to New Hampshire and began fishing its many lakes and rivers for anything that moved in the water. Since moving to the Seacoast area, some 22 years ago, he began fishing in-shore and off-shore. His passion for the ocean and its beauty is obvious. Given the chance, he would stay out on the water where new sights, sounds, and excitement can always be found. His first priority is always safety and security of his passengers and his vessel. Further, the Adventure and Catch is both OUPV charter and commercially inspected to meet all water and boat safety criteria. In addition, Captain Andy is also a certified boat safety drill instructor The Adventure and Catch is a 31′ down east style boat with a pilot house and cuddy cabin to get out of the weather and has a full marine head (Bathroom). It is powered by Yanmar Diesel Engine and the boat is maintained by Dover Marina. Currently, she is docked at Great Bay Marina, slip – D42. Her cruising speed is 20-22 knots on a calm day and 18 knots with some “chop”. So getting out to the fishing grounds is fast and smooth. For more information or if you have any questions, feel free to message the Captain for a quick response and we look forward to seeing you onboard the Adventure and Catch.
Techniques
The primary style of fishing employed is Jigging. The rods on board and reels use (Shimano Teckota 700. 800 reels) while the rods are parabolic and allow the fish to be punished and not the angler when reeling in a big catch. For Big Bluefin Tuna, its all about the bait. Creating stick bait, live lining live bait and hiding the hook is so important for these fish. Utilizing the best gear possible is another huge element. On my boat its all custom 80/130 rods created by Zach Custom Rods. The Reels are Simano c130's lined with 200 lbs hollow core braid merged to 200lb mono top shot (300yards) followed by 30-50 feet of Seagar fluorocarbon. At the end of the day, you want the big fish, then you have to go for the big fish on the big rods!

Captain Andrew was great with the kids. He worked hard and got us on the fish. The kids couldnโ€™t reel them in fast enough.
