I can’t say enough about our experience on the Ciprea I. The boat is spacious and safe, with sunshade and a cooler full of drinks. Alberto and Nacho were both excellent, and made sure that my son’s hooks were constantly baited (he’s 12). When they had something on their lines, they let him also reel it up for added excitement. We moved around a number of times to catch a great variety of fish including yellow and red snapper, grunts, Dory, 2 larger Spanish mackerel and 2 nurse sharks!  We will 100% be back next year, hopefully during the season when we can catch the bigger fish trolling.  thanks again for such a memorable experience!

We caught a ton of fish. You’d have a hit within seconds of each cast. We caught everything from small fish (sometimes two on a line at a time) and giant nurse shark.

The first half hour was spent with the crew catching bait with a net. As I’ve never seen this before, I didn’t mind the wait. If you’ve seen it before I’d recommend asking to have them catch bait ahead of time.

I’d highly recommend Roberto and Nacho. They were kind, easy to communicate with, put me on a million fish, and cleaned them all up for me after.

By far one of the cheaper options and I don’t know why. They provided a first class experience for the price with snacks and cold sodas, plenty of ice cold water, and beers. We didn’t catch fish, reason being, my wife was suffering from a heat exhaustion, borderline heat stroke. I told the captains that we had to go back immediately to cool her down and they pulled the lines up and beelined back to port. I could not ask for a better experience. They gave it the best effort before that happened to catch fish. We had one on but I lost it due to my lack of experience as well as seaweed snagging the line as I was pulling it in. The conditions were not ideal the day we went but that morning, they did catch 5 large dorado which they showed me as they were unloading from the morning trip so yes, they definitely catch fish. The captain is from Puerto Morelos itself so he was raised in these waters. Absolutely book these guys. FULL SHADE on deck. For $200 for four hours, it’s a no brainer. When we come back to PM, we will be booking with them again. Go Ciprea!

Did a quick morning trip with my 8 year old son and we had a blast. I was after Sailfish and Mahi Mahi. I was told the season wasn’t till later (May, June, July).I asked if we could still try and land one, and they had no problems. After an hour and half of trolling we were unsuccessful and I my son was getting bored of my dream to catch a Sailfish lol. We decided to bottom fish and that’s when the action started! We landed 3 Trigger, one small Grouper and a pile of Yellow Tail Snapper. Steady action until my son started to not feel well due to the waves. Almost 4 solid hours so I was happy and the crew was more than happy to take us in. Nacho the co-captain filleted up the Trigger fish for us and brought it to a local restaurant where we had it cooked up. It was a great experience for both my son and I. If you’re on the fence deciding if you should go fishing, I suggest do it! You won’t regret it!

We caught several fish, and the crew was jovial, which made it even better. Budget friendly charter! We would highly recommend anyone to book the Black Moon and look forward to returning next year.
