Background
Captain Steve grew up in Indiana and had a love of all things outdoors from a young age. He entered his first tournament at the age of 9. He continued competitive tournament fishing in his hometown lakes and ranked nationally in the BFL All American. He then progressed and moved on to the Everstart and the FLW Series divisions. Always wanting to share his love of fishing, nature, and wildlife with others, he pursued a career as a licensed captain and is now certified through the U.S. Coast Guard and also carries a Sea Tow endorsement. Captain Steve has continued his career as a full-time fishing captain. In his free time, he can still be found on the water with his sons and daughter enjoying the great outdoors. Captain Brent has been blessed to have fished in various Bass fishing clubs, fishing tournaments, and charity events over the past 27 years, helping him and gaining guide experience. Now a full-time fishing guide, he enjoyed fishing with his clients!
Techniques
Captain Steve loves to throw artificial lures from topwater, jerk baits, flukes, worms and a variety of soft plastics. The best method to catch largemouth bass on Lake Toho is using live wild-caught shiners. If you are looking for the best time on the water, I advise using Shiners!

It's crazy what some of the other services are claiming about Lake Toho. We are Lake Toho Guides, and we fish in the lake every day of the year. Here are some actual facts: The bass fishing on Lake Toho this summer is currently very consistent. Right now, we have more hydrilla on the lake than ever before, and the invasive grass is fantastic for bass fishing. While regular boaters don't enjoy it, it's not a problem for regular boaters. The water, which typically has an algae bloom at this time of year, is the cleanest we have seen during the summer, and the bass are loving it. We are averaging an incredible 25+ bass a day under normal conditions. The two and four-hour trips are great to get out early or late and rip some lip. We're catching fish around hydrilla and peppergrass, throwing chatter baits, spinnerbaits, speed worms, and even hollow-body frogs around the thicker hydrilla So, if you’re in the area on vacation or live around here, come with a relatable guide service that's on the lake every day. Spring bass fishing on Lake Toho here in Kissimmee, Florida, is productive for catching great numbers of trophy bass. The nonstop action of bass fishing on Lake Toho at this time of year is due to the post-spawn, and the bass is feeding like crazy, which makes the bass fishing very stable. Lake Toho Guides has been in operation since the early 1960s. Now, it is four generations deep in experience and holds every record on Lake Toho, including the biggest bass and the most over 10 lbs . Captain John Leech caught the 97 bass over 10lbs on Lake Toho, with no one in a close 2nd. If you like to throw artificial lures, this is the time of year. Springtime is what we consider the best time of year for fishing artificials on Lake Toho. It is not uncommon for Lake Toho Guides to catch a five-bass limit weighing over 35 pounds on artificials at this time of year. 2024 has been one of the best years that we have seen for catching trophy-sized Lake Toho Florida bass in a very long time. As we move into the spring months, this type of fishing will continue, and the outlook for this spring may be the best that we have seen yet for catching a Lake Toho trophy. Lake Toho Guides is the largest operation guide service on Lake Toho, with bass boats, bay boats, big and small as well as a full fleet of pontoon boats for any size group.
