Captain Mike was awesome. Had a trip scheduled for 9am, but the weather didn’t want to cooperate, it poured all morning. Mike communicated with us all morning and was patient enough to hold off till the afternoon to take us out. He knew all the spots to hit. But the highlight was seeing the dolphin about 3 ft from the boat as he was hunting for dinner. Thanks Captain Mike for a great day and a memorable trip. We will definitely recommend and be using Chum em up Charters on our next trip to Punta Gorda.

Captain Michael provided a great trip. The high rating he has online is warranted. He provided everything we needed to have a great time. Knowledgeable about the area and how to target fish.  He put us on the fish and even gave out a lot of information on tips and tricks he uses. You can tell the passion he has for fishing and making sure his guests have a great time. One of the few times that I was on a trip with a guide and the captain didn’t fish. When asked about it his response was I’m here to make sure you catch fish not for you to watch me catch fish. He had caught a ton of live bait for us, had great performing equipment and boat. No problems with motor or defective equipment. When we got snagged and lost tackle he was quick to get us set back up and on the fish. I would highly recommend him and will definitely use him again.

It was my last day in the country, and unfortunately, the weather was windy and chilly—not ideal for a fishing trip. But Captain Mike was unfazed. He suggested starting the trip an hour later to let the temperature rise a bit. He expertly navigated through the Punta Gorda canals, choosing routes with maximum wind protection. His knowledge of every corner of those canals was impressive, and it was no surprise that we caught a variety of fish, including sheepshead, mangrove snapper, and even catfish. We also had the opportunity to go for jacks. While they only appeared briefly and we missed that chance, Mike anticipated it and had a rod ready with the perfect lure so we could try our luck.

The experience was fantastic. The sheepshead we caught was absolutely delicious for my family and me. I’ll never forget the taste or the amazing day spent with Captain Mike.

If you have the chance to go out with him, don’t miss it. He’s an incredibly friendly and skilled fisherman who will ensure you have a great time!

I did a solo trip with mike..  He’s a great captain and person.  The bite was slow on the day I went but thats the way fishing goes..  He worked hard to get me on some fish though.  We hooked in to several different species of fish…trout,snapper, snook and sheep head.  We stayed out later than the orginal end time.  He wanted to make sure that I had some keepers to take home.  I thought it was a very stand up thing to do.  I appreciated his gesture.  I was still happy with the fish I had hooked in to, after all it’s called fishing and not catching.

Mike is professional, outgoing and always making sure you are catching fish, we caught different species like snaper, snook, jacks, grouper and spanish mackerel. Thinking to rebook in the future and you should too 10/10.
