We had an incredible experience with Ocean Blue Kona Fishing Guides! From the moment we stepped on the boat, the crew went above and beyond to cater to our family’s needs. They made everyone—from first-timers to seasoned anglers—feel comfortable and included.

Not only did they put us on fish (we had a blast!), but they also shared amazing local tips and recommendations that made the rest of our trip even better. It’s clear they love what they do and take real pride in giving visitors a memorable experience on and off the water.

Hello I originally picked this company because it’s family owned. I had a feeling that they would take care of me and my family as if I were a member of their own family and they did. We caught fish and had a great time. We used some of their recipes provided by Kevin to have an unbelievable lunch after our trip.  We love sushi and had the goat fish seared and rare… Fantastic! Our trip was Jan 3. Captain Kevin and deckhand Tracy were amazing!  Knowledgeable. Great people and very easy to talk to. The water was unusually rough and they put us on fish for the brief time we were on board. We were a group of 6 and there was plenty of room for us all. Two of our group were 7 yrs old and the rough water made fishing tough for them. We rescheduled. They are big on putting out a quality experience for families. 99% of the time the waters are nice. Our reschedule was with Captain Kihe and deckhand Mehina. Knowledgeable and easy to talk to as well. We headed out and got to fishing. They know where the fish are and they put us on the fish. Lots of fish were hooked, some were caught,  some got off. We did not keep any, but the offer was there. Snacks and a cold ice box with drinks were available. Good family times and a sunset to top it off! I would definitely look up Ocean Blue Kona again!!! Thank you!!

Bottom fishin is the way to go for an active and inclusive small group activity. Captain Kevin and crew Mahina were wonderful, supportive and full of knowledge. We were on the move always looking for the next best spot and they kept us BUSY! We caught plenty of fish to feed the fam back at the condo and had a fun time frying up our nabeta and sharing in the bounty together. Kevin and Mahina gave us great cooking tips, printed instructions, and we successfully fried our nabeta, sashimi’d our yellow spot papio (which they kindly prepped) and had an overall incredibly fulfilling day! We had a great time with Captain Kevin and Mahina! They have a passion for fishing and were super helpful to our two boys.  Their main focus is on ensuring everybody in the group is having a good time and they are a joy to be around.  Our boys were exhausted from catching so many fish, and they prepared our fish to take to a local restaurant to cook for us which made it even more special!
