I hope everyone who books with me or is considering booking with me reads this review twice and if you are like Andrea book with someone else or even better find a different hobby. Booking with us requires a few things. 1. Being able to read , 2. Common Sense,  3. Honesty & Most Importantly, 4. Not being full of CRAP. First and foremost Please read, what the trip description says. It is very specific to what the trip is and isn’t. Our Shared trips are designed to get people on the water on one of Boston’s Top performing boats and top notch crew at a very low cost, usually the lowest cost in the Boston Market. Shared trips are also the biggest headache for myself and my Mate because we try to satisfy different wants from as many as 6 people that usually don’t know each-other prior to the trip. If you are not good at navigating in that environment don’t book a shared trip it requires some flexibility and very good communication skills. Second read our confirmation communication which is sent twice, once after you book and again before we pick you up. It has very specific instructions like to look at the weather forecast and dress appropriately, where and when we are going to pick you up and most importantly our expectations regarding gratuities for the mate who normally works much harder on shared trips then on private trips. Gratuities are not optional they range from 15% to 25% and it is how the mate gets paid. If any of this information isn’t crystal clear to you or you are having difficulty understanding any part of it don’t book the charter without contacting me in advance. 

As far as Andrea and her guest (son) a recent college graduate, upon arriving we immediately noticed they were wearing lightweight T shirts on a relatively cool to brisk evening, which we knew were not going to keep them comfortable for a night Fishing & Cruising Trip. and, although The Trinacria had its heat on in its Cabin and Bridge deck during the trip, people don’t book us to sit in the cabin. Therefore, I went below and got a couple of hooded sweatshirts that the mate and I keep on-board and offered them to her and her son which they both quickly accepted. For pretty much the rest of the trip Andrea quietly sat in the corner of the rear deck with her hood up on our sweatshirt. She said very little during the trip and never once asked us if she could fish. Her son who told us at the beginning of the trip he wanted to fish had a fishing pole in his hand and fished the whole trip. At the end of the trip Andrea and her Adult Son walked off the boat without a word. A couple of days later I reached out to her and asked if she or her son had a problem with the trip or my first mate after my mate told me that neither Andrea or her son gave him a gratuity. She said “no she really liked him he was very informative on how the fishing process worked etc.” . I replied and told her it is customary to tip mates as was relayed to her at least 3 times prior to her trip. She replied that she had planned to reach out in the future and get the mates Venmo because she didn’t have her wallet with her the night of the trip. But now she was appalled that I asked her about it and would not be offering a gratuity. After she gave me a number of suggestions and pointers on changes I should make on how I should be running my hugely successful charter business with my lowest review rating coming from her. I respectfully explained to her no thank-you on the business advice, wished her well and told her to never book with me again. I hope she doesn’t take down this review… it will serve to be very informative to my customers and hopefully prevent future Andrea’s from booking with me. Shared trips are not for everybody if they are not for you do not book a shared trip. Lastly, Shared trips can be a lot of fun for outgoing, optimistic, good communicators that want to get out on a boat trip for little costs or may not be able to get a group together.
