- USCG Licensed Captain Eric Goodrich was born and raised in Upstate New York. Spending countless hours fishing and hunting, Eric acquired a vast amount of nautical knowledge when he became a mate on a charter boat on Lake Ontario. Earning a four-year college degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Management, as well as employment at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Eric moved to Maryland to start a career in environmental restoration. He started, owned and operated his own environmental restoration company that specialized in stream restoration, wetland construction and shoreline stabilization. With over 30 years in the environmental field, Eric gained a phenomenal amount of knowledge about the Chesapeake Bay, local streams, surrounding watersheds, currents, tides and hydrology. Eric holds many professional certifications, including Chesapeake Bay Landscape, Maryland Tree Expert, and ISA Certified Arborist. His genuine interest and dedication to fisheries and wildlife management led Eric to start Stella Charters LLC in January 2023. He earned his USCG Captain License for uninspected vessels for six passengers or less up to 100gt/100 miles offshore. Serious and recreational fishing for the last 7 years, Eric is grateful for the knowledge he has acquired from friends and other charter captains. He is ready to share that knowledge and “pay it forward” with guests who are ready to venture out on the Chesapeake Bay aboard the Stella Charter!
