SPECIAL NOTE:
In Maryland's Chesapeake Bay, the Striped Bass (Rockfish) season and limits below.
Season Dates:
Spring Season: May 1 to July 31
Striped Bass Closure: August 1 to August 31
Reopens: September 1 to December 5
Catch and Release December 6 through April 30
Catch Limit: One striped bass per person, per day.
Minimum Length: 19 inches.
Maximum Length: 24 inches
We target Catfish, and White Perch during Striped Bass closure.
The fish in these waters include Striped Bass (Rockfish), Catfish, Perch, Spot, Pickerel and more.
You can expect to do some, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, live lining or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Eric also offers fly fishing, but you will need to bring your own fly gear and having experience fly fishing is highly recommended.
Trips with Stella Charters are very kid-friendly, and educational so feel free to make a family day out of it! The boat has a enclosure to help you stay warm on cold days. Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are also a good idea to bring so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
Capt. Eric will bring you aboard a 29’ NauticStar 28XS Offshore center console with room for 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers and the best electronics on the market. There’s a toilet/sinck on board for your convenience. You’ll find top of the line rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you. All live bait and tackle is included. There’s no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
It’s never a bad idea to bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Bottled water will be available for you.

If you’re looking for a great experience look no further than Stella Charters. This was our second trip out with captain Eric. We limited out both times but even if we didn’t I’d still recommend. This is a smaller more intimate charter which is really nice for a smaller group. Captain obviously has tons of knowledge, great equipment, and makes sure you are comfortable for your trip. Communication, cost/ value is excellent. Vacuum seals your catch. Makes yiu feel like a friend, not just a client. Can’t wait for the spring to get back.

Captain Eric is the best, from ensuring that we are going at the optimal time to catching fish to packing the trip with fun stops and sightseeing. We caught such big rock fish! And captain Eric helped bring the fish in, letting us first timers reel, and he cut and cleaned the fish after. Captain Eric was knowledgable, friendly, and went above and beyond to teach us and help us have the best time possible. The boat is also so clean. The house was easy to find. We would 10000% recommend others, and will definitely return.

We are a family of four with two boys that booked with Captain Eric and we couldn't have had a better experience. We've been on plenty of other charters and most don't seem to care about anything except your money. Captain Eric was gracious and friendly from the time he met us in his driveway. Boat was ready to go when we arrived, stocked with all the equipment and bait we needed for the day. Captain Eric put us on the fish right away, we caught our first fish on the second line we put in the water. Eric was great with our boys teaching them tips and tricks for catching while live lining. When fishing slowed down at our first stop we moved to another area where we resumed catching more fish. At the end of our trip Captain Eric cleaned our fish and even offered to vacuum seal our fillets. Before we left he provided us with information regarding bay conservancy and some Stella Charters swag. The icing on the cake was his Instagram post of our family and fish with the perfect sound track. Thank Again Captain Eric, see you later this Fall.

Outstanding Charter with Captain Eric

We had an absolutely phenomenal experience aboard Captain Eric’s charter! His boat was in excellent condition—clean, comfortable, and equipped with top-of-the-line electronics that gave us a serious edge out on the water. We were able to pass older, slower boats and get to prime fishing spots fast, which meant more time catching and less time cruising. After we reached our Striper quota, he found us a great spot to catch spot and croakers and perch. Everyone caught fish at each spot, just a great day of fishing.
Captain Eric knows his stuff and used his gear and instincts to put us right on top of the fish. And First Mate Cade was friendly, knowledgeable, and on top of everything from baiting hooks to keeping the deck clean and giving great fishing tips.
If you’re looking for a fast, well-equipped boat, a crew that truly knows what they’re doing, and a day full of fish and fun, this is the charter to book. Can’t recommend Captain Eric and Cade enough—we’ll definitely be back!

First off, Stella Charter's boat and equipment are phenomenal - the cockpit looks like a command center with all the electronics to help locate those elusive critters of the sea. Captain Eric is dedicated, extremely capable and experienced, easy to talk to, provides excellent guidance for any type of fishing, and is just an all-around great person. I caught two Stripers (one 24") and a catfish - and man there really isn't anything quite as good as FRESH fish. I would highly recommend Stella Charters, whether you are a total novice or an experienced fisherman.
