Robert communicated well, and made sure we knew everything we needed prior to departure. Upon arrival we were stunned at how luxurious the boat was, a smooth ride, super clean and organized, with way more space than we expected. He not only provided beverages, bait and tackle, but knowledge, kindness and professionalism.

He managed to make sure everyone caught something, took pictures along the way, and sent us home with filets for diner. This trip was relaxing and exciting, filled with magic like seeing our first loggerhead sea turtle, all while keeping the nyc skyline in the background. We caught over two dozen fish, across a number of different species. All though we didn’t get any keeper fluke, Robert kept us on them the whole time, and we managed to score a few cocktail blues and a giant porgy to take home.

Regardless of your skill level Robert is the perfect patient captain who creates a day at sea that is just right for your needs. He’s a local, he’s wise, he’s approachable, and he creates an atmosphere that encourages learning from someone who has so much experience to share. We highly recommend Robert for your next fishing adventure, you’ll get way more than you pay for.

We went for a 4hr fishing trip on a weekend morning, and we were greeted by Capt Rob’s warm and cheerful welcome. It was 4 of us first time going fishing in New York and we’re all relatively beginners, and he was super patient in giving us guidance and tips on how to use the fishing rods. He put on bait each time, release the hook from fishes we caught and offered cold refrigerated drinks. We ended up having more than 20 catches (fluke, sand shark etc) in different areas although none passed the minimum legal size to keep and bring back home. We came super close though (caught a 17” fluke!). We all had a ton of great fun, and would definitely go back to fish with him again!

Wow!! Where do we start? Robert was great. Very knowledgeable, kind, personable, and Safety conscious. When we arrived to NYC the weather was not very promising and Robert kept a close eye on the weather and communicated with us the entire time the night before and morning of our trip. At roughly 6:00am he called and let us know that it was unsafe because of very dense fog, but said if we wanted he could keep an eye on it and let us know when the fog lifted and we could go out a little later, knowing we had come from Louisiana and really wanted to take this trip. At roughly 10:15am he called and said the fog was clearing an we could head his way. We ended up having a great day and a fantastic trip, and caught plenty of fish.

Our group of 4 went on a 4 hour trip with Captain Rob on Saturday, 7/12, and had a great time overall. Rob met us at the arranged spot to walk us to the boat and went over safety / logistics in a professional and organized manner before we got on our way. Rob’s boat is immaculately maintained and kept very clean. Fishing grounds were a short ride away and all in all, our group caught 20+ fish (fluke, rays, sharks) with one 22” keeper fluke. What I appreciated most was Rob’s friendly demeanor and willingness to help. Highly recommend for any group that contains novice fishermen who might need a little help and guidance along the way. We’ll be back soon enough!

Rob was awesome! He made sure we knew what we were doing and honestly seemed more excited about catching fish than we were. He kept moving us to new spots and gave us different gear to try so we had the best shot—and we ended up catching something to take home!

We were thinking of checking out other fishing spots, but after today, we’re sticking with Rob. The boat was nice, the water was great, and Rob made it a perfect day out. Can’t wait to go back!
