Growing up in Charleston, Captain Nicholas Winch was lucky enough to be able to fish these beautiful waters just about every day. Having fished since he could walk, there was never any doubt about the importance of fishing in his life. His favorite thing about fishing is the sheer excitement of reeling in the big fish that's almost palpable.
Techniques
In the summer and fall months I like to bottom fish for redfish, black drum, and many more. During the winter and spring the redfish are schooled up making it fun and easy to sneak up on schools of 100 plus fish and sight casting to them.

The bite has been getting much more consistent as the temps continue to rise. This is the perfect time of year to spend the day on the boat fishing. The redfish have been fired up and continue to prove why they are a fishermans favorite to catch. The trout and flounder are beginning to show up in better numbers as well.

The weather is warm and the fish and feeding hard. The inshore bite is still very good and the jetties bite is getting better and better each day. Menhaden are here which means the big bull reds are THICK in the harbor and at the jetties.
