This was my first time booking a fishing Charter and didn’t really know what to expect. Big Fin Charter made this experience very pleasant. Their communication throughout the experience was great! Captain Ty did a great job putting us on fish even though the conditions were not favorable. He was friendly and accommodating no matter the level of experience of the angler. I would recommend Big Fin Charter to anyone looking to book a Fishing Charter. You will not be disappointed!

Captain Michael with Big Fin Charters was the best! My family of 5 said this charter was the best part of our week long vacation on Amelia Island.  Captain Michael was so patient with our very unexperienced group.  We tried out a couple spots in the jetties and he found us the perfect honey hole! We caught sea bass, trout, flounder, and the biggest (at least in our book) red fish. Our four hour excursion flew by as we were having a blast.  We caught a TON of fish and our whole family had the luxury of participating with our fair share of action.  We even had the perfect trifecta with 3 of our 4 rods all hitting at once.  We all reeled in 3 large red fish at the same time.  It was chaotic, funny, and exciting all at the same time.  Big Fin Charters is HANDS DOWN THE BEST!!

We booked a last minute fishing trip with Big Fin Charters for Father’s day for my husband and father in law. It was hot, but we had a great time! They are family friendly. The trip consisted of me, my husband, 2 sons (26 and 10 y/o) and mother and father in law. My in-laws are elderly and Big Fin Charters made sure they were comfortable. We booked it for a 4 hour trip in the jetties, but Capt Michael was honest with us and mentioned that with it being Father’s Day weekend, it was crowded at the jetties and asked if we were open to going further out. We were ok with it.. especially since we were able to catch 2 kingfish and 4 big snappers. We were bummed that we couldn’t keep the snappers since they were out of season, but it was still fun. We had a blast and will definitely book with them again when we go out again in Fernandina.

First of all, from the minute I called Captain Michael Foster, he was so personable, answering all questions with depth and knowledge about the fish, the jetties, where we had time to go, etc. I got such a good feeling from him on the phone and my gut proved me right. The same comfortable feeling in person. He accommodated our every need. We caught our own bait along with the bait he brought, we were set. We caught so many fish, I got tired of reeling them in. There were six of us on the boat and everybody was catching fish on both sides of the boat. We moved three times and each spot was spectacular. I would def hire Big Fin Charters again and again.

boat is tip-top. The crew is nice and personable. They were flexible; since the water was too cold for good fishing we wound up taking a very pleasant tour of the bay and a creek. Would go with the again, though making sure the fish are running first.
