Capt. Elliott Ambrose grew up fishing the Roanoke River slightly inland of the Outer Banks. He spent his days learning everything about every species he could. That passion led him to the ocean where he took a job as a mate out of Oregon Inlet. From then on, he spent all of his time fishing Inshore, Nearshore and Offshore. He has been a Captain for the last 10 years and now, an owner-operator. Capt. Elliott's experience and enthusiasm come together to give you the trip of a lifetime!

    Once in a lifetime experince

    Full day cobia • 4 adults • 2 children

    We had a wonderful time onboard. Although we skunked out in the Cobia we still managed to catch 22 Spanish Mackerel and 2 Blue Fish. Our day started with a once in a lifetime experience traveling through the world famed Oregon Inlet. We were on fish as soon as we dropped the lines in the water and 1st Mate Wyatt was knowledgeable and walked is through what to look for when hooked and how to bring the fish aboard. He also gave us insight to the history of winter duck hunting in the area and some ecosystem challenges happening at the local beaches. This will be a treasured memory for the entire family. I’d highly recomend Captain Elliott, 1st mate Wyatt, and the Roanoke for any fishing charters, you won’t be disappointed.

The booking process through FishingBooker was smooth, and the directions to the boat were clear and easy to follow. Parking was convenient, and finding the dock was no problem at all. Captain Elliott was professional, welcoming, and made the whole trip enjoyable. He made sure we were comfortable, explained everything clearly, and knew exactly where to take us for the best fishing opportunities. His knowledge of the area and dedication to making sure everyone had a great time really stood out. We ended up catching a great variety of fish — barracuda, bonita, mahi, tuna, and Spanish mackerel — which made the trip even more exciting.     Mahi Mahi limit caught trip of a lifetime

    6 Hour Tower Trip • 6 adults

    The trip was excellent. Captain Elliot knew were the fish were and we all caught our limit of MAHI MAHI. The first mate keep the lines going out as we were reeling them in. It was the first time fishing in the ocean for most of us and the crew was patient with us. I HIGHLY recommend the Roanoke and captian Elliot.

    We had great time and had plenty of fish caught. We caught plenty of fish and had to leave some for the captain and mate.

    Great Catches Early On!

    6 Hour Tower Trip • 5 adults

    We didnt go out to the towers, but the Captain put us on some awesome Amberjack early, and got some Albacore tot top it off. So grateful to see these boys catch the biggest fish they’ve ever caught! First mate was extremely helpful and personable, and we all had a great time!

Drum Roll Please!

The Drum showed up for nearshore trips and it sure has been fun playing catch and release! We are also seeing Ribbons, Spanish Mackerel and a few Bluefish in the mix. Offshore the Billfish are really putting on a show! Still have Mahi and Tuna around for dinner too! It’s a great time to go fishing, book your trip today!

June Report

Wow, we have been so busy fishing that June has flown by! The bite stayed hot and we continued catching Tuna even after the sharks showed up. Yellowfin Tuna, Blackfin Tuna and Bigeyes too, became more scattered but the Dolphin stuck around! Tilefish and Seabass are always a delicious addition to add to our charters catches! We even got in on a little inshore action because the Amberjack fishing was too good to pass up!

Mixed Bag!

May has been phenomenal fishing! Offshore, the Yellowfin Tuna have been plentiful and citation-sized! We also caught Mahi Mahi, Tilefish, Blackfin and Sea bass... yum! The Cobia bite has been so hot around here that we just had to get in on that! The cobia trips have been some of the best we have ever seen - contact your Captain directly for more details on that.
