Depending on the season, you might hook Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish, Bluefin Tuna, Bigeye Tuna, Blackfin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, and anything else that bites. Captain Elliott aims to tailor every trip to your specific needs, so let him know what you’re after!

Your adventure begins aboard the "Roanoke", a 50-foot sportfisher built by legendary local boat builder and charter boat Captain, Sheldon Midgette. It has air conditioning, three fighting chairs, and all the essentials of a true fishing machine. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience and she holds up to 6 passengers.

Capt. Elliott has rods and reels for you, along with lures and bait. The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain.

A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. A 20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.

Captain Elliott and first mate Wyatt were excellent. They put us on the Spanish early and we caught over a dozen , then headed out to the tower to catch amberjack . What a fight ! Nothing like I’ve ever experienced. Everyone on board caught at least one , and we only kept three because it’s plenty for us to eat. Captain and crew were very friendly, shared conversation with us , and far exceeded our expectations. Will definitely go back out with them next time . We’re enjoying our catch tonight for dinner . Amberjack ceviche and on the grill . Nothing like fresh fish right out of the ocean .

Great trip

6 Hour Tower Trip PM on August 19, 2024

My family came down to the outer banks. It was our first time here and we wanted to do some fishing. We booked Roanoke charter with Captain Elliott for a tower trip. We caught our bait and headed out 20 miles to a tower. The mate said it would take about 20 seconds to hook a fish and boy he was not kidding he had a fish on within 20 seconds of us stopping and it continued like that for an hour and a half or more. We all six of us were fighting fish on and off the whole time. Would highly recommend this boat and crew for anyone looking to go out and catch fish. They knew there stuff.

Couldn’t recommend enough

There was three of us on the trip. We are NY walleye tournament anglers that wanted to go after some bigger fish. I can’t say enough of how awesome Captain Elliot and First Mate Trey were. We got along from first meeting them. From catching bait to catching our fish was pure enjoyment on our tower trip. Working with Elliot on our trip the communication and trip were 100% great. We caught so many fish we were all exhausted and couldn’t take more catching. Our arms were exhausted. We caught them from dropping down and top water, which just elevated the experience. Please book this trip.just be ready to get a workout.

By far some of the better fishing guides we’ve ever had. Great with kids. Put us right on top of the fish. Action packed day that was capped off with a 160 lb. tuna. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thanks for the great memories Cpt Elliott and Trey! We’ll be back!

Capt Elliott and Trey were awesome. They did an amazing job helping out with our boys that had never been out on a fishing trip before. They kept the rods bending and we will def be booking with them again.

angler's choice

The Angler's Choice Award is given to listings that consistently deliver a high-quality service and earn great reviews from customers.

Capt. Elliott Ambrose grew up fishing the Roanoke River slightly inland of the Outer Banks. He spent his days learning everything about every species he could. That passion led him to the ocean where he took a job as a mate out of Oregon Inlet. From then on, he spent all of his time fishing Inshore, Nearshore and Offshore. He has been a Captain for the last 10 years and now, an owner-operator. Capt. Elliott's experience and enthusiasm come together to give you the trip of a lifetime!
