Right out of the gate we knew that during this particular time of season was going to be mainly Lake Trout. That had no effect on our trip. Jarrod fit right in with our group and was an amazing choice made by our group. If anyone looking for a fun charter for their group, In The Box would be the way to go. Captain Jarrod is like a concert musician strategically playing all of the fishing poles in the water without crossing or tangling lines. In many instances, it’s amazing how he anticipates fish biting before we noticed any pole action. On a day where other charter boats were struggling, we were fighting with all kinds of Lake Trout and King Salmon. It was exhilarating to watch King Salmon jump high into the air after being hooked. A terrific day on the lake with Captain Jerrod. Be prepared to work hard and take in the action coaching instructions. You will learn a lot and really enjoy this experience.

My family went on an evening fishing charter with Jerrod. Jerrod wasted not time in getting us in position and all of his rigs set. We caught a few smaller fish at first and with calm waters and the sun overhead we were not getting many bites. Jerrod was confident that around 7pm as the sun lowered, we would start to see the bite pick up.

Right on cue we started getting bigger bites. First a couple of large lake trout. Then we hit on something big that was out about 700ft of line. It took almost 30 minutes to get in but we were rewarded with a 25.5lb 40” King Salmon.

My kids both got to catch multiple smaller fish and Jerrod was very good with them. He helped them and they had fun.

I’ve done many fishing charters in many different areas (Florida, Carribean, Colorado, Wisconsin). Jerrod is one of the best I’ve had. His boat was clean and organized and he wasted no time. He worked hard to adapt to the slow early bite and it paid off. He is professional and fun to chat with. I highly recommend.

Captain Jarrod was awesome. He worked around our schedule to get us out and start slaying some fish. Very knowledgeable guy. We had a fun time with him. I will definitely use him again. I would recommend him for anybody looking for a Lake Michigan fishing charter.
