I grew up on Chesapeake Bay and always loved fishing. I worked as a mate on several charter boats and also as crew on a commercial crab boat as a young man. I enjoyed being on the water and helping provide a good experience for customers. I became a licensed marine engineer in 1984 and sailed in the merchant marine for several years. In 1990 I obtained my operators license and in 1995 had Safari Girl built from a local boat builder.

Afternoon / Evening trip • 2 adults • 1 childMy son and I went out to have a boy’s weekend. Captain Mark accommodated us and even allowed a schedule change. The fishing was great - we caught a couple of blue catfish, several big channel catfish, and even a Blue Crab. Boat was immaculate. Captain Mark has lived in that area his whole life and probably knows almost everything there is to know about fishing, fishing spots, and the Chesapeake. He was extremely polite and friendly and great around kids. We will definitely be returning when Striped Bass season opens. Can’t say enough good things about Captain Mark or the trip. Highly recommend. I’m not getting anything for leaving this comment - it’s all true.

Full Day Trip • 6 adultsMy friends and I had a wonderful time on the safari girl. We caught several decent sized rockfish despite conditions not being the best. Captain Mark definitely knows what he’s doing and does it old school. Awesome!

Full Day Trip • 6 adultsMark was great ! Six of us went (mostly first timers), and we're already planning the next one. Mark is knowledgeable, patient, and interacted well with ever body. He got us onto the stripers as soon as we got to our destination, and we limited out in no time. Highly recommend Safari Girl, and if you from the PA, northern MD area, he's the closest I could find. Thanks again Mark !

Full Day Trip • 3 adultsCapt mark and his mate Mike, I have charter boats for years and all I can say is just an amazing trip, personal , professional, just a memorable trip these two guys where just amazing , the boat was clean, prepared , well equipped just everything was on point captin mark sets the bar high and just about unattainable I booked a trip today and will continue to do so for stripers spring and fall. Capt mark thank you u put us on the fish all day , u gave great instruction and coaching u r a prime and knowledgeable Capt thank u
