- Background
- I grew up on Chesapeake Bay and always loved fishing. I worked as a mate on several charter boats and also as crew on a commercial crab boat as a young man. I enjoyed being on the water and helping provide a good experience for customers. I became a licensed marine engineer in 1984 and sailed in the merchant marine for several years. In 1990 I obtained my operators license and in 1995 had Safari Girl built from a local boat builder.
- Techniques
- Our most targeted fish on our trips is striped bass. We troll in the spring during the trophy season. We also do some trolling and jigging in fall. But my most preferred technique is drift fishing or anchoring on the upper Bay shell hills with light tackle for the larger fish. I think it's the most fun experience we provide, especially for kids because they can handle the tackle easily.
