I’m not sure it could have gone much better! We booked a 1/2 day Kingfish charter after a few days of unsettled weather, but conditions were perfect for us. A short stop to catch baitfish, quickly and efficiently done, and then on to “the spot”.  A 13kg Kingfish took the bait on first drop, and then a 15kg followed that. A few nice Snapper took baits that strayed too close to the bottom and then more Kings, including a double hook-up. All fish kept were beautifully bled, cleaned and filleted... More

We had the most amazing half day fishing charter with Captain Bucko. We caught good sized snapper and loved cooking and eating the fresh fillets too! The fishing was lots of fun. Captain Bucko kept us entertained with his funny stories and jokes too. We have great memories that we will be talking about for many years to come. We highly recommend Captain Bucko and his fishing charter.

Had the best day on the water in a long time. Couldn’t give Bucko enough praise he was very responsive, easy to deal with and went tue extra effort to make the day great. Very knowledgeable captain and caught plenty of fish, when others around us seem to not be having the same luck.

Captain Bucko was a pleasure to go out with for half a day in the bay of islands. He is extremely knowledgeable and kind, and got us onto plenty of fish. I left feeling exhausted from all the reeling - something that doesn’t always happen on fishing charters. We got onto some huge kingfish and snapper and I am very happy with the outcome. Highly recommend if you’d like to catch snapper or kingfish, be in good company, and be out on the water!

Captain Bucko gave my boys a great time of their lives! The boys said fishing the live baits was already exciting…and catching so many giant snappers was simply surreal! We will be back captain Bucko. Thanks for the great fishing experience….and the fish banquet afterwards!!
