- My favorite fishing is Yellowtail on the anchor, wether it be at Catalina or San Clemente Island. Yellowtail are SoCal funnest year round game fish, they pull hard, are in schools, and are excellent table fair. Offshore fishing can't be beat either, Tuna, Dorado and Yellowtail is the goal. Fishing on the surface for Tuna is incredible as well, you can troll, use bait fish, use kites, but a surface lure is my preferred choice.
