I have been fishing in this area since 1973, when my dad was stationed at Eglin Air Force Base. Before becoming a captain, I worked as a chef for 35 years. I have had a love for fishing since I was 3. What I love the most is fishing offshore in the gulf, so I have a lot of experience bottom fishing and trolling. Since I'm a skilled chef, I can give advice on how to cook it at home or recommend some of the best local restaurants to cook your catch.

We were disappointed in our trip. We paid $1000 and did not get one single fish to keep to show for our time and money. We were told we could go offshore but the Captain didn’t want to go out because the water was a little choppy. The website indicated the boat had a toilet and it definitely did not. That is false advertisement. We would not go with this charter company again. The Captain did not seem as experienced as the website led us to believe. We drove a hour from where we were staying... Just to let you know, there was a strong north wind and it was very choppy where we were. If we had gone out further, Chase would’ve gotten even more sick than he was feeling. Safety is always one of my biggest concerns, so I know from my experience ,what it would’ve been like further out in the Gulf.They caught about six red snapper , 8 triggerfish and a good size grouper. I am sorry but I don’t make the regulations on what you can keep. Red snapper is out of season and the other fish have size limits. I’ve been fishing in these waters for 15 years and I felt like I did the best I could considering the conditions. We have had some hurricanes come through which have disrupted the waters as well. I do have a porta potty on the boat.It is just easier for guys to go off the side,Rather than squat down in the floor of the boat. All the men that I’ve had on the boat said they would rather just go off the side. My fault for not suggesting the Porta potty.
