Our family spent one of the most memorable afternoons ever aboard the Miss Carli.  Captain Al took us on a tour of points of interest near the shoreline of the Orange Beach/Gulf Shores area.  Then we concluded our afternoon at LuLu’s for dinner. It was an exceptional afternoon with a most professional crew.

The day we went the weather was not great. Very windy and not ripe for great fishing but captain cliff took us to some creeks and coves that kept us out of the wind. We hit several different spots looking for bait fish and reds. Once we got our bait fish we headed out to find the bigger fish. Cliff worked his rear off keeping the boat steady, bait on the hooks, taking our catch off the lines and giving plenty of humor to provide a fun atmosphere. We ended up 7 keepers which was more than enough for a great meal. I would say it was a success considering the conditions and can’t imagine what it would have been like on a really good day.

Captain Cliff was awesome.  A couple spots we tried early on didn’t produce quality fish right away, so Cliff kept us moving until he found them.  When we got on them, we hardly had time to take any pictures.  We ended up keeping 5 different species - Bluefish, Speckled Trout, Spanish Mackerel, Black Snapper, and southern kingfish.  Cliff cleaned the fish for us and we took it home and were able to feed 5 families with a fish fry!  Cliff seemed to know the spots that aren’t heavily trafficked.  He was great with our young boys and the teenage boys, especially considering the amount of hooks and shrimp we lost!  I wouldn’t hesitate to call up and request Cliff if I were ever going to book this type of trip again in the future.

Our trip with Captain Cliff was successful.  We had 3 adults, a 13 year old, and two 9 year olds. The weather changed before our trip to colder temperatures and the first 2 hours of our trip was cold and rough.  Because of this the fish were not biting as they normally would. That is what happens sometimes and why is it called fishing and not catching. Captain Cliff worked his butt off finding a location where the fish were biting but was not too rough for the kids. The last 2 hours of the trip we got on the fish and the weather warmed up.  Turned out to be a really fun and successful trip! Captain Cliff was very friendly and recommended many restaurants in the area (one of which ended up being the best food of the trip).  Everyone agreed that we would definitely book with Captain Cliff again!
