- Techniques
- I fish from a 24-foot Sea Hunt with a 225hp four-stroke engine, the boat fits 10-12 people. There is plenty of space for bags onboard and a small toilet (head) in the console of the boat. The boat is equipped with plenty of safety equipment we have 8 life jackets, 2 throwable PFDs, flares, a fog horn, and other safety equipment, I am also a lifeguard and know CPR. Inshore trips typically target Striped Bass using light spinning and fly tackle. Other species available on inshore trips include Bluefish, Cod, Flounder, Mackerel, and Pollock. I also have lobster traps that we could check as part of a trip. We are rarely more than 15 minutes from fishing. There is the possibility of Offshore fishing trips that target Bluefin Tuna, Sharks, groundfish, or Whale watching, and require a longer run "offshore". These trips typically require leaving the dock a bit earlier due to a 45 – 60 minute run to the fishing grounds and they are slightly more dependent upon favorable weather patterns. Offshore fishing trips are usually between 6-10 hours and tend to cost more.
