We booked this charter specifically for my grandson to learn how to fish. We had a great time and he caught the three biggest fish of the day.  We had the snapper for dinner. The crew was great at working one on one to instruct us how to properly cast and when we had something on our line. I would recommend this charter if you want a family experience with individual instruction.

Captain John and his mate Nick were awesome. They both worked very hard to get us onto multiple species of fish. We caught a lot of fish and enjoyed learning about the different types and techniques to catch them. We had some rough water while we were out, but the guys did everything they could to make sure everyone was as comfortable as possible. Surprised my husband and 2 kids with a 3 hour nearshore fishing trip. I had never been fishing outside of the bay and ended up starting to get sea sick the captain John offered to take us into the calmer waters in the bay to fish after an hour of Mr trying to tough it out, was a red flag day so the waves were a little big. Everyone caught fish, my 9yr old son caught a big flounder and was pretty excited. Would book another trip in a future trip when we are back in the Ft. Walton/Destin area.

My family and I went out with Captain John and Nick. The boat was in great shape and well maintained. These guys were professional in every way. My 15yo son latched into what turned out to be an 83lb Wahoo! Captain John talked him through the fight and they brought it in! I highly recommend booking with A Slice of Life!

We had a great fishing trip with Captain John and Nick. They were both very nice and took good care of us. Kept our hooks baited and we caught quite a few small ones but ended the day with a Trigger fish large enough to feed four adults for dinner at AJ’s that evening. Great experience overall!
