Captain Fred provided us with a perfect intro to fishing the beautiful Hickory Bay Area and Imperial River. We are novice fishermen and a boat ride through this beautiful part of Florida was just what we were looking for.
Fred put us on fish within minutes of our first stop in Hickory Bay catching snapper and sheepshead. He made it a first class experience, quickly keeping fresh bait on our hooks, targeting where the “catch” are and removing them as we reeled them in. We had a cooler full before the first hour was up.
Fred has a sporty and maneuverable boat which made the areas outside the no wake zone a blast. He even took time to show us some hidden lagoons where manatee were on our way back. A reel treat!
I would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking to add a fishing and boating experience to your vacation time.

Spent the day on the water with Captain Fred and his mate Andy. Despite battling some of the worst red tide in SW Florida history we had non stop action. Captain Fred work endlessly to put us on fish all day. We caught a variety of species from crevalle jack, mangrove snappers, a giant mojarra, and even hooked up to the ever elusive snook before getting broken off. Had multiple triple header fish on throughout the day, highlighted by an insane blowup of crevalle jacks on artificial top water baits.

Captain Fred was more than accommodating when we asked to switch fishing times due to commitments we made later in the day. He showed up on time with a live well full of bait and poles rigged and ready to go. Had multiple Penn Battle II 3000 rod and reel combos which in my opinion are some of the best/most versatile combos out there for this type of fishing. Both Fred and Andy were super laid back and easy to talk to making the trip very enjoyable as we were able to talk about a variety of topics (fishing and non fishing) and even got to crack some jokes.

Would highly recommend Captain Fred if you’re in the Bonita Springs area. We will definitely be using him again!

We did not catch as many fish as we would have liked but weekend storms impacted our success.

Captain Fred did not disappoint. Even thought weather did not cooperate (wind/tide), capt Fred knew where to find fishing hotspots!
