St Johns River Tarpon

Jul 11, 2025 • Fleming Island
Friday, July 11th, was an unforgettable day on the St. John's River in Orange Park, where my podcast partner, Jimmy D, and I experienced an incredible Tarpon trip. We achieved an impressive 3 out of 4 catch rate, with two of the Tarpon weighing in the 100-pound range. Join me on a trip to experience this for yourself and tune in to July's podcast to discover the strategies behind our success.

The bite is as hot as the weather

June 16-22 River Fishing Report: This week has been scorching hot and so has been the fishing. I've had 5 excellent trips this week, all south of the Buckman Bridge. The river is full of 1. Redfish 2. Shrimp 3. Tarpon 4. Catfish You'll want to take an early morning or late afternoon trip to capitalize on the fishing opportunities.

6/5-6/10

Jun 10, 2025 • Fleming Island
6/5-6/10 River Fishing Report ? Wow! The river has come alive in the past two weeks. First, the shrimp are not only here, but also in very good numbers for this time of year. Perfect size for bait with the mix of mediums and some large. The glass minnows and finger mullet are everywhere and has all the predator fish hungry. This time of year offers a variety of trips in the river targeting numerous species. ✅ Friday morning's charter was a kid's trip and just wanted to have fun catching anything. We were able to get on a good bite of channel cats and reds. ✅Friday evening's charter was targeting reds and landed 12 slot reds. ✅ Then, to really switch it, today I did a summertime Crappie (specs) trip catching over 30 large crappie. All of this in the same stretch of the river. ☎️So, let me know if you want to get in on the action. ~Captain Rob

June River Fishing Report

Jun 2, 2025 • Fleming Island
River Fishing report Shrimp season has officially opened and the shrimp are here! Head to the usual spots and load up on some bait shrimp. With all the shrimp in the river the predators are here as well. Redfish, trout, flounder, sheepshead, tarpon, striper...you name it. If you are in the mood for a good old fashioned fish fry now is the time. The river is loaded with great eating catfish (whites and channel). You can find them around the bridges and docks. It's a great way to spend the day with the family and load up the cooler. Time to hit the river and have some fun. Give me a shout and I'll put you on the fish. Captain Rob **hidden content**
