- Captain Robert was raised on Topsail Island, North Carolina, and has spent his entire life fishing the coastal waters of NC. His first professional fishing experience came when he took a job mating on a sportfisher when he was 15 years old. When he turned 18, the captain received his license and began running offshore trips on a 26' center console. Since then, Capt. Robert has spent time mating on and running various sportfishers throughout NC – his includes his time spent successfully competing in the NC Governor's Cup Billfish tournaments and running charters on his own boat, the "Laura Linn."
- Techniques
- Captain Robert enjoys all types of offshore fishing. From catching big Drum at night to chasing billfish in the Gulf Stream to everything in between. Ocracoke is known for its close proximity to the Gulf Stream and abundance of gamefish such as Wahoo, Tuna, Dolphin, and Grouper that are here year-round. From April to October, billfish species such as Sailfish, Blue Marlin, White Marlin, and Swordfish can be targeted as well.
