The new year begins with excellent inshore fishing. You'll be able to target Redfish, Black Drum, and Speckled Trout in Winyah Bay. Bass fishing in the rivers is solid as well, with active bites from Spotted, Largemouth, and Smallmouth Bass.

A lot of the action is centered inshore along the marshes and oyster bars. Sight fishing is a great option as the clear winter waters allow you to spot your target easily. Top catches include Red and Black Drum, Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, and Bluefish.

If you plan to go fishing on one of the rivers, right now is a great time to target Crappie and Bass. Inshore, you'll find Redfish, Black Drum, Trout, and Jack Crevalle in shallow waters of the Winyah Bay.

The Cobia bite starts to warm up, Flounder fishing is in full swing, and you can also target many other inshore fish, such as Jack Crevalle, Spanish Mackerel, and Redfish. Freshwater fishing is all the rage as well, so be sure to head upstream for Bass and Crappie.

May is an excellent time to go Cobia and Shark fishing inshore. Yellowfin Tuna and Little Tunny start to show up offshore as well, so now is the time to find a charter to take you Tuna fishing.

Water temperatures average around 80 degrees, making fishing ideal no matter where you go. June is a great month for targeting Bull Reds in shallower parts of the Bay. Head into deeper territory to battle Kingfish, Wahoo, and Mahi Mahi. You won't be disappointed!

Tarpon takes center stage as it settles into its summer patterns. The best time to target the Silver King is early in the morning or in the evening, so if you're an early bird or a night owl, Tarpon fishing might be the perfect option for you.

The summer heat continues so the fishing is hot everywhere. Go offshore and hit the Gulf Stream in search of Sailfish or stay closer to shore and target Flounder or Redfish. Nearshore waters produce great opportunities for Cobia and Kingfish as well.

Tourists start to head home for the fall, so September is a great month for fishing. As your kids head back to school, a variety of inshore fish join schools of their own. Winyah Bay is teeming with Red and Black Drum, Trout, Flounder, Tarpon, and Sheepshead.

As water temperatures begin to cool, flats fishing remains hot, so choose a charter that will take you sight fishing for Redfish and Trout. Other top-targeted species are Flounder, Tarpon, Sheepshead, and Bluefish.&nbsp;

Speckled Trout and Redfish are filling their bellies up for the winter, going after shrimp and other small bait. This is prime time for inshore fishing in marshes and tidal creeks, as well as freshwater fishing for various Bass species and Brown Trout.

Keep an eye out for Redfish near the oyster bars and creeks. Speckled Trout start to become a bit more picky as winter approaches, so the right bait and technique is crucial. As long as you're patient and willing to learn as you go, December should be a breeze!&nbsp;

New Year's fishing kicks off in Murrells Inlet with what is usually a steady inshore bite. Speckled Trout, Redfish, and Black Drum are the name of the game. Offshore, the Bluefin Tuna bite is on fire.

This is the coldest month in Murrells Inlet, but what better way to warm up than fighting with a Redfish or Speckled Trout? Black Drum and Sheepshead are caught on the reefs, and Wahoo is going strong 60 miles out.

Redfish are feeding as bait becomes more abundant. Sight fish for them in shallow water. Offshore fishing can be windy but Wahoo and Blackfin Tuna are great targets when conditions allow.

Springtime marks the season to target delicious Flounder. With more baitfish close to shore, you'll also find schooling Redfish, as well as Speckled Trout, and Black Drum.

The Shark bite gets serious, making this a good time to catch a big fish in shallow waters. Look for Spanish Mackerel nearshore or make the most of the excellent Flounder bite inshore.

During summer, the fishing is excellent inshore, nearshore, and offshore. The warm waters attract a large number of species, including Spanish Mackerel, Black Drum, Spadefish, and more.

This is the month to catch pretty much every game fish that calls the waters of Murrells Inlet home. Look for Tripletail hiding under structure. Or fish for King Mackerel just a few miles offshore.

The excellent summer bite continues, with Amberjack and King Mackerel lurking around the reefs. This is the peak time to get out on the water, with warm temperatures and favorable conditions.

With crowds thinning out, this is a great time to check out the Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk. Temperatures remain warm and the Redfish bite starts to get serious inshore.

If you're a fan of panfish, now is the time to fish in Murrells Inlet. This is the peak of the area's famous Spot fishery. Inshore, Redfish, Black Drum, and Trout are on fire.

As the waters cool, the fishing also changes. Bull Redfish and Trout are feeding up for winter and devouring shrimp, as well as artificial bait. Black Drum are also bottom feeding.

Gear up for the holiday season by seeking out Redfish near oyster bars and creeks, as well as over seagrass beds. Look for Trout around creek mouths or head out to the Gulf Stream to fish for Tuna!
