Captain Adam was great, had everything teed-up perfectly so we could hit the water right at go-time, and really maximized our fishing time. He took great care of our two little ones (ages 5 and 6) and made sure they had all they wanted of the fishing experience. My lady and I were able to enjoy our own fishing time without worrying about the kids, as Adam had them covered.

He knew the hot spots for fish so we didn’t waste any time. As soon as our lines dropped into the water, we had fish within seconds. Some throwbacks, of course, but plenty of larger pan fish for blackened fish tacos, and a good variety of species.

Capt. Adam was very flexible and accommodating.  The 400 HP 27 ft. Playin’ Hooky took us to our first stop for baitfishing.  Within 30 minutes we were loaded for fun.
Next stop seeking Goliath’s with large fish carcasses. Cap was honest saying that this time of year, it would be hit or miss and may run into some sharks as they shared the area.  Within minutes of dropping our line, our bait was snatched and hooked a large fish, but our teen couldn’t get a hook set and lost it (probably weighed as much as him). We ultimately took three large sharks (~150 lbs.) which was great for the boys (17 yo).
Next stop seeking amber Jack’s and King’s on light tackle, hooked several, but ultimately they got eaten (most likely sharks or possibly goliath’s?).  Finally ended fishing reefs for grouper, porgies, snappers, etc., to finish our day. Caught ~100 fish between 4 of us, threw the small ones back. As the sun lowered into the Western sky, the ride back from 26 miles out to De Soto Park boat launch was pleasurable on a perfect following sea.
Cap and his lovely wife cleaned our fish and recommended a fine restaurant that would cook our catch.
All in all, for an afternoon trip, it was a wonderful day and a memorable experience. 
Cap was very knowledgeable, got us on the fish quickly, and kept us reelin’ em in all afternoon.  Cap says the only time he can’t take out a client is if the weather isn’t cooperating (which is understandable as this area of the gulf is very shallow and can whip up in no time).  He loves his work and did everything to make this experience enjoyable.
I would highly recommend you reach out to Capt. Adam if you’re in search of any salt water species in the area.  This was one of the best charters I’ve experienced having fished many parts of North America for fresh or salt water species.

Adam is a great captain and fisherman. He got us on fish immediately and it was game on for the entire trip. Super nice guy, the boat was perfect for the two of us and the gear he provided was spot on. I would definitely recommend Playin’ Hooky charters to anyone looking to book a trip. We caught bonita, a huge bull shark, blue runners, and a king mackerel.
