Great fishing tour of the bay. Had the chance to see things we wouldn’t have if we stayed on land. Captain knew the spots and was great company for us on our trip. Our captain made the trip and we were able to catch dinner for the evening. Would recommend this to anyone interested in fishing at any skill level.

Captain Ruben Garcia was waiting for us at the designated location with the bait and boat ready to go.  Apparently he already had bought the live shrimp before we even showed up (6:30 am).  One of the things I liked about the boat was that it had a top to provide some shade.  That can be a life saver out in the hot sun.
Mr. Garcia is a down to earth kind of person with a desire to ensure his customers get the best experience during their fishing trip.  He took us to a secret spot to catch mangrove snappers in the bay.  We used live shrimp and the action was non-stop.  Those snappers hit your bait so hard I thought one was going to yank the rod right out of my hand.  They are good fighters and great tasting.  Although a lot of snappers stole our bait, we still managed to box about 50 fish.  We were doing so well, that some rude people came in an anchored their boat right on our spot where we were casting.  Lucky for them we ran out of shrimp and made our way back to the bait stand to refill.  Captain Garcia then took us to fish another spot in the bay.  We drift fished for trout or whatever came along.  We managed to bag a few trout in the 16 inch range.  Mr. Garcia took care of everything.  He got our fishing rods ready and rigged up, he took the fish off the hook, got us bait, put us on the fish, gave out pointers and even filleted and bagged ALL the fish.  That was a job in itself. 
I never new Mr. Garcia until this trip, but it definitely was a great experience.  My Son and Girlfriend had a great as well.  Under the suggestion of the Captain, we took some of the snappers to Joe’s Oyster Bar (Port Isabel) and had them cook them up for us.  They were yummy!  We look forward to doing the fishing trip with Captain Ruben Garcia again sometime, you should too.

Capt.  Ruben made the best of a windy choppy water day. He never gave up on trying to put us on the fish!

Ruben was very helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable, on our fishing trip. We caught our limit of Speckled Sea Trout. My wife liked everything about our trip, especially, since she caught the biggest fish. Thank you Reel Off Charter and Captain Ruben Garcia, for a great time.
