My family (ages 15 to 67) had a wonderful experience of deep sea fishing with Captain Rudy and Adam. We spent the day catching so many different types of fish and they took time to tell us about the unique features of some of them, it was awesome! We saw sharks, jellyfish, sea turtles, rays and more. They recommended we take some of our catch to Johnny Longboat’s, where they’d fix it for our supper how we wanted it cooked; I highly recommend; food was delicious. We even had enough fish to bring home in a carry on bag on ice. This was a wonderful experience that I would definitely do again!

If you want to catch a variety of fish this is your boat. Captain Rudy and first mate Adam were on time and ready go when we arrived. My wife and two teenage children were made to feel welcome right from the get go. We stopped on the way out at Sailfish Marina and purchased some live bait. I think the live bait was worth it but we did well on the dead sardines as well. We made Rudy aware that we hoped to catch some good eating fish to help cover the grocery bill for the duration of our holiday. He didn’t disappoint. We started in deep water (600 feet) in the seaweed beds hoping for some Mahi. After a few small barracuda messed with our bait for awhile we moved inland. We trolled through the seaweed beds for a bit but still no luck. Then we went to about 130 feet and fished some top water baits and bottom fished as well. This is when the fish came. The top water baits were hit by bonita and a nice mahi. On the bottom we caught mutton snapper, barracuda, porgy, yellowtail, almaco jack, caesar grunts, blue runners, queen and gray triggers. We would have easily doubled our numbers but the fish had to run the shark gauntlet on their way to the boat. Sadly a lot of them didn’t make it. Also the ramoras took a lot of our bait. Both Rudy and Adam worked extremely hard to keep all the rods baited and their combined knowledge of the area paid off. Most of all, these guys love what they do. Even though we have done a fair amount of deep sea fishing as a family we are by no means experts. The vibe on the boat was always relaxed and if mistakes were made it was no big deal. More importantly they both made sure to teach us new things to make the overall experience better. Adam processed all of our fish at the end of the trip and gave us some pointers on how to prepare them. All in all this was our best deep sea experience so far. 5+ stars for sure. Booked an afternoon trip with Capt Rudy and we’re looking forward to getting out in the ocean and catching some dinner. Capt Rudy contacted us in the morning and advised that the weather was not looking good for ocean fishing (20 knot winds and 4’ -6’ swells) but he had some nice spots inland that have proven very successful in the past. So we opted for the latter and had a great afternoon!  Capt Rudy anchored us up on a wreck and as soon as we put our lines in the water we were hooked up. Capt Rudy and Mike are two very friendly and knowledgeable fishermen. They aim to please and they are very successful in doing so. Our catch was cleaned and iced up for us to take to the restaurant where they cooked our catch!  I have to say there is nothing like a great day fishing with friends and catching our dinner!  Thank you Captian Rudy and Mike for a pleasurable afternoon of fishing and informative fishing tips. The only regret is that we did not have the opportunity to make it out into the ocean for some deep sea fishing!  But Hey, there is always next time!  We will definitely be booking the PapaBear Too for our next trip when we return!

Went out for a trip with Captain Mike and Adam. Right away they trolled into a school of Bonita. They had me on fish all day, even when the shark was circling the boat waiting to steal out catch (Which he did). On the last drift of the day the real fun began!!!! We had goggle eyes out while drift fishing for some table fare and one line started to scream. After a 45 minute fight we were very excited to land a monster 60 inch King Fish!!!! Mike and Adam were so surprised at what it was and there were High Fives all around!!!!! What a great trip!! Always buy the live bait!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Mike and Adam for the fish of a lifetime!!!!!

The wind was projected to make our trip pretty choppy so the captain called us and kept us informed on the weather and told us he’d let us know if plans needed to change.  We were fortunate enough to get to do our half day trip as planned and our two teenagers had the best time catching a bunch of different fish.  Captain Mike even cleaned our catch and directed us to an amazing place who grilled and blackened our fish for dinner.  This fishing trip was the perfect ending to our family vacation.  Thank you again Captain Rudy & Mike!!
