- Background
- Captain Ezekiel "Zeek" Cruz has been fishing in San Diego his entire life. Since beginning to work on fishing boats at just 10 years old, he has mastered the art of southern california fishing, and secured a reputation as one of the regions top charter captains. Whether you are looking to put your kids on their first fish or book an all-in hard-core trophy tuna trip, Captain Zeek is your best choice to turn those dreams into lifelong memories. Captain Zeek is a seasoned trophy fisherman with over 3000 days logged at sea. His true passion is targeting truly giant fish like the former state record 520lb swordfish he helped to land in 2023, or the literal thousands of 200 plus pound bluefin he's helped to put on deck in the last decade. In addition to his passion for targeting trophy fish, he is your best choice for family friendly trips. As fun as it is catching giants off-shore, nothing gives Captain zeek a bigger smile than teaching children and new anglers how to catch fish. From baiting and setting hooks to gaining a genuine understanding of where, when, why, and how to fish, above all else Captain Zeek loves teaching the art of fishing. If you're looking to make some incredible catches and lifelong memories with your friends or family, Boundless Charters should be your very first choice!
- Techniques
- My preffered technique is the one I know will put the most fish on the boat. Whether we are chasing giant tuna with poppers or drifting halibut with 6 lines out, I always ensure im doing everything I can to improve our chances at getting a bite. First and foremost, my goal when I leave the dock is to make sure my passengers always have the best experience possible. When you fish on my boat you, you will see me making constant adjustments to our strategy and techniques, AND hear my reasoning and thought process for every adjustment, so that when you step off my boat you will not only know how you caught the fish, but why.
