First Yellow fin tuna of the season

We went out of our way for a whole day to fish for this gorgeous yellowfin tuna. There was a lot of action, but it wasn't easy to get a bite, but we finally heard that reel sound we were waiting for. Thanks for coming!

I was visiting with my dad and did this half day trip. We caught a 30 kilogram tuna, and lost another even larger one. We also saw many dolphins and Portuguese man o’ war jellyfish. It was a great day. Captain Pedro was communicative ahead of the trip and was very nice and pleasant during the day, as was his first mate George. I highly recommend for folks looking for a unique fishing experience!

We had such a great time! Our experience had to be postponed a couple of times due to the weather but Captain Pedro kept me up to daily and managed to get us out on our last day in Sao Miguel. Captain Perdro and Jorge were a lot of fun and very knowledgeable of the ocean, although we didn’t catch anything it was an amazing 4 hours at sea. Definitely will do this again on our next trip back!!
