Captain
Taylor Collins

Member since February 2026 Jacksonville, United States
Background
I originally grew up in Nashville, Tennessee. At nineteen years old I joined the Marine corps and served four years. After that contract I ended up in Mayport, Florida serving a four-year contract in the Navy. The one passion that I have always pursued is fishing. While I was in the Navy here in Mayport, I worked for a used boat dealer and got my captain's license. Any free time I had was spent on the water looking for redfish, trout, and flounder. I enjoyed the fishing in this area so much that I decided it was time to become a permanent Florida resident. What I love about fishing, is that there will always be something new to learn, regardless of how much experience you have. When you head out from the boat ramp as the sun is rising, whatever problems or difficulties you have on land seem to go away for that short amount of time spent on the water. Theres also nothing quite like sight casting a redfish in shallow water and feeling the thump of the bite and the sound of the drag screaming. Jacksonville has an unbelievable fishery, and I would love to show you all that it has to offer!
Techniques
I like to use live bait mainly and i will also throw artificial lures. my favorite thing to do is sight cast redfish in shallow water at low tide. I prefer quality over quantity, but i can provide you with both. I use light tackle and light braided line with fluorocarbon liters. 2500 size reels and 7 foot medium fast action rods
