Highly experienced crew that can put you on the fish in any conditions. Learned a lot from Captain Mike and his many years of experience. Looking forward to seeing them again very soon.

The captain and crew were fantastic. Cut over 30 fish on that boat. Definitely will be back again.

We did not catch rock fish were not bitting. Deck hand was very attentive.  He even gave us some of his snacks and drinks.  However I believe they could have brought better bait. They did not have any live bait on board which I believe was the cause of us not catching any but a few small fish. Squid was good, but captain brought raw shrimp you buy at the supermarket.  I dont know if it’s worked in the past, but having ghost shrimp would have been better. Overall even with us not catching any we had a good time. Some days no matter what you try. It’s not going to bite as much!

Pre-trip communication was good, and trip started well.  Boat was older and a little unkept - moldy tomatoes in the refrigerator.  We travelled a top speed of about 8 to 10 MPH on the entire trip.  Communication during the trip was very minimal.  On the trip out we consistently saw pods of dozens of dolphins, many seals, and lots of military boats and aircraft - very cool.  About 2 hours into the trip Mike put out 3 poles off the back.  However, unfortunately we never got a bite on these and we never fished any other poles for the 8 hours we were offshore.  The plan was the same for the entire 8 hours - looking for kelp patties, but we never found any kelp patties.  We headed back inshore to catch some bass and halibut.  We had a couple keeper halibuts up to the side of the boat, but the captain and first mate were not ready to bring into the boat and we lost them.  It was a beautiful day and the non-fishing experiences were nice, but it was the least successful fishing day I have ever had.
