  8 Hour Trip – Troll/Spin Shared on November 14, 2025 • 1 adult

  So, I don't know where to start: It begins with your booking, the organiser will grt in touch with you to work out details whether you need transport or not. I did not need it because my resort is 200 or 300 meters away from the Chalong Pier meeting point. Once arrived I called the number provided in the message. Probably not necessary when you had transport. Just follow the instructions you get in the email. However, DON'T BE LATE. No matter if it takes a bit longer for organisational reasons or not. Please be on time. Once on the boat we will have to wear safety vests provided until we left the port. During this time you'll be asked to pick a card. Make sure you pick a low number. Because this determines the order who's turn it is to catch a fish on the rear end (spinning). We will also have one or 2 spots where we were trying to pick our lunch fish (trolling). The crew will prepare it along with chicken drum sticks, Thai soup, rice and fruits. Drinks (non-alcoholic) are included and we didn't run out. If you wish to have beer, no problem, but you need to organise for yourself before you going on the trip. You can not buy it on the boat. You can always smoke on the boat but please don't throw your cigarette butts in the sea. I made a bottle of water halfway filled, where we could dispose them. Even the crew followed once they saw it which I thought was great. It's not even more effort for anyone but the sea would thank us for that. The durstion of the trip is like 6-7 hours, don't forget sunscreen and a hat. After my first trip I had a mild heat stroke and was sunburnt all over the place. Not this time thankfully. Some boats - maybe all provide free WiFi, however it may not always work reliable. Your best shot is to be prepared yourself with a Thai e-Sim if you don't already have. On the way back we go in snake lines to have maximum chance for a catch with the spinning rod. That's what you had to pick the cards for. A high number may make you miss out on that catch. Yesterday we didn't have a catch at all from there. But this is - as you know - the standard risk of going fishing. No matter how good the crew is - and trust me - they know what they're doing - at the end it's always mother nature who decides if you make a catch or not. We arrived at Chalong Pier and yes...I realised that I forgot my earphones. I called the number, they got the earphones and even brought it to me the next day. You will have the choice at the end of the trip if you want to give a tip. If you think that was great, don't be greedy. We always want people to do the best they can for us, it's also up to us to value that appropriately. Thank you for having me today, let's see when I will make my next trip Markus

  As a serious angler , I suspected this would be more for the tourist rather than people like myself and I wasn’t wrong . However I cannot fault this trip at all . It would be easy for me to give it a lower rating based on my experience, but i can’t . Crew were very helpful and would try different locations if we were not catching. Lunch was very good. Even if you just want a day out on the water you can’t beat the value. Would recommend to any tourist who isn’t looking for a professional fishing trip

  Good mix of trolling & drift fishing

  Good amount of fishing time! We started trolling 30 minutes after departure. Found an area of small black fin tuna, hooked one about every 3-5 minutes. Mate was excellent in assisting the anglers (most new or children). Captain circled the boat several times thru that patch! Drift fishing with spinner teals was uneventful! Seas were 3-4 feet later becoming 5-6 feet! Lunch was provided onboard by the crew as we anchored near an island out of the waves. Swimming available. Lunch was the fresh tuna we caught, grilled Bonita we caught, fried chix wings, rice, salad, fruit. After lunch, just trolling back to harbor (drift fishing wasn’t gonna happen with the waves. ALOT of time in the sun, bring sunscreen! Giant rest area to relax and nap was available.

  its called fishing not catching

  trolling went okay didnt catch much worth talking about, spot fishing was successful but nothing big was caught. for the price it was a excellent trip. lunch was very good and the swimming spot was nice. the captin and crew was professional and fun to fish with. i would definitely book again, make sure to bring shorts or swimsuit to swim in.
