Arnold was fully professional and truly loves what he does. He’s very commanding, and that’s important when running a tight ship. He guided us through catching a few small (18-24”) tuna and two big fish (a mahi mahi and a yellow fin tuna). He said this was a lucky day, but I feel he knows what to do to find the big catches.

I researched several deep sea fishing tours and settled on La Menta. I highly recommend this team. I would recommend taking something to avoid sea sickness beforehand as a couple of us lost their breakfast with the diesel fumes and high waves on a relatively calm day. Even so, both of my young kids were chattering away the whole ride back to the resort about what a great time they had. If I come back to Curacao, I’ll book with La Menta again.

I’ll start with the most important thing, that my wife can get anxious on boats if she doesn’t know the person driving or if we lose site of land. Captain Arnold immediately made her feel comfortable and she had a great time. At one point the water got a touch rough (she didn’t get sick) and he immediately took us back to smoother areas and we got to keep fishing and she kept having fun. Both days would have been fun even if the fish hadn’t been biting, but we actually did great both days. Getting the chance to hand line a barracuda was extremely cool. Also the unofficial first mate Frida the chihuahua is super cute and sweet!
Great charter. Great captain. I’d highly recommend for anyone.

I have fished the world over and Captain Arden is by far the best Captain that I’ve had the good fortune to fish with.  His boat and equipment are absolutely first class.  Captain Arden took the time to explain what we were fishing for, and the do’s and don’t on how to handle the rods and rope lines for each type fish.  He explained the sea depths where we were fishing and how the fish reacted to the boats and baits we used.  This was one of the best fishing trips I’ve been on.  We caught fish, and had a great time.  I still haven’t hooked a marlin, or big sail fish, which means “I’ll be back”!

Captain picked us up after our Carnival cruise docked and took us to their boat.  Greeted by the deck hand.  Took off and within 30 minutes had our first yellow tail tuna in the boat.  Ended up catching an 80lb Wahoo and two more tuna.  Captain and crew was very informative.  Provided us with fresh fruit, awesome chicken to eat that was cooked right on their boat, and plenty of drinks.  We highly recommend.
