Harkers Island, United States

Background
Grew up fishing here and there and when I caught my first red drum, it was all over!
Techniques
My favorite fishing style is inshore fishing with artificial lures for red drum and speckled trout, but I enjoy light tackle casting action in the ocean for a variety of species from Spanish mackerel to cobia and everything in between!

Fishing Reports

Summer Inshore

July 10, 2017

We have done a lot of fishing since the last report, and most of it has been great when the wind isn't ripping! We have also been able to dodge most of the storms! Red drum fishing on topwaters… Read Full Report →

Spanish Macks, Sharks 'n Topwater Blues

June 15, 2017

Went looking for some surface action and found some. They were picky and we had trouble making the casts, but we caught a few spanish mackerel on casting metal. Then we went to look behind the shrimp trawls when… Read Full Report →

Blind Luck!

June 12, 2017

Tried the same thing as the day before, but started where we had the best luck yesterday. Didn't have a red hot bite and broke off the nicer grouper bites. No cobia. Landed one throwback grouper then made a… Read Full Report →

Wreck Hopping

June 11, 2017

Started off on the first wreck with some tough luck. Kept hooking nice fish and kept breaking them off in the wreck. But that's part of the game when you fish on wrecks! Made a move and limited out… Read Full Report →

Reds on the Flats

June 09, 2017

Fished about 5 spots and came somewhere close to 20 reds on gold spoons, popping corks, spinner baits and topwaters. Awesome morning! Tried for the sharks, but the cold front had them pushed back out in the deep. Read Full Report →

Summer Inshore in full swing

June 05, 2017

We caught many redfish with gold spoons and popping corks and then threw a cast net on some menhaden. One cast and we were loaded up. Went to the Cape and set out for sharks and hoping for a… Read Full Report →

Warm water made things difficult but Captain Willl persisted in searching for the fish until we got into them. His extensive local knowledge of the area and the fish made all the difference in our outcome. We will be back.

Thank y’all for sticking it out and fishing hard!

Very knowledgeable and worked well with two amateur 12 year olds.  Taught them casting techniques and what to look for.  Very hot day with warm water, fish chased but didn’t hit much.  Boat was nice and Will was very professional.  Would recommend anytime.

Will was great with our kids and worked hard to keep all engaged.  We has a 10 year old & 15 year old that had a great day.  Will also let my son watch and learn on fish cleaning after the trip.

Will worked real hard to put us on fish.  We targeted blues.  We all caught fish and Captain Will did a nice job of working with my 10-year old grandson and seeing to it that he had a good experience.  He actually boated more fish than either myself or my son-in-law.  We had a very good afternoon.
