Full Day Trip • 2 adultsGreat experience! My brother and I each have 40+ years of experience fishing in Florida but could not find bait or fish around Morehead City. Captain Will provided the exact guide service we needed. Our full day near shore trip was great learning experience. Captain Will took the time to teach us what we were missing and explain why it mattered. We hooked up with countless AJ’s and got one 33” Gag Grouper a personal best. Summer inshore leading to Trophy Redfish

We have been catching a lot of slot and overslot redfish and nice trout on topwater on the flats all summer. Now we are starting to trasition to the Neuse river for the Giant redfish season through september. We have started to catch them already, although the bite is still not that consistent yet. We are catching plenty of trout, slot reds and stripers to fill the voids and even some flounder. Book your giant redfish trip now and dont forget anout our awesome fall trout and false albacore bite at the coast!

2019 Recap and 2020 So Far

2019... Wow, what a year! I want to thank everyone that fished with BHGS in 2019 for making it another great year and allowing me to do what I love for a living. The clients I have and the relationships I am able to develop on the boat with my customers is why I keep grinding out there on the tough days. I truly cannot complain!
Since the last time I posted in July, we had our old drum fishing season, fall fishing at Cape Lookout and a ridiculous Speckled trout bite that has lasted through the winter and is still producing consistently. Old drum fishing on the Neuse river was awesome this year, with the exception of a couple very slow weeks in the middle of August between the first and second wave of fish. We turned our attention to other fish like speckled trout and back to the slot redfish that we love. We also experienced some grinders out there popping corks and throwing swim baits in search of the second wave of old drum, which we had to be patient for. The last two weeks of August saw a big change and the old drum bite on lures got hot and heavy as it should be and we had many great days even right after Hurricane Dorian and on until the beginning of October.
When I returned to Beaufort for the fall fishing season, the slot redfish were right where we left them in August, the speckled trout had begun to make a strong showing in their fall locations and the false albacore were putting on a show. About half of my fishing effort in the fall was along the beaches chasing Albies and even getting after the ocean Old drum, which were around this fall and winter in better numbers than average years. The other half of our efforts were after the speckled trout which have been the stars of the show this fall and winter. **hidden content** has been the best trout fishing I have seen in my fishing career and I am honestly getting tired of eating trout HAHA... Wish we always had that problem.

Great Inshore Fishing In Beaufort, NC

So much fishing, so little time to post! Redfish and big speckled trout on topwater lures! Some days the fishing is red hot sometimes you have to work at it, but fishing the flats with topwaters, gold spoons, chatterbaits and spinner baits has produced some awesome redfish and some big trout particularly on topwater plugs while redfishing.
Bluefish on topwater plugs, Spanish mackerel casting and sharks have provided excitement on family and kid trips or for people that just want action and don't care about the glory of redfish!
