Cutplug charter was definitely the right call and we are excited to start planning our next trip. Both captain Cam and captain Justin went above and beyond to make sure we were having the trip we hoped for. They had great communication through the entire process which took all the stress and guesswork out of it for us. We showed up where they told us to and the fun began. Both captains we met were very patient and knowledgeable would be comfortable bringing family and friends of any age in the future. Thank you guys so much can’t wait to see you both again very soon!!

Justin is an amazing captain! He knew where the fish were and took us to all the right spots. He was funny and is beyond knowledgeable about fishing. He did a great job communicating with the other captains and moved us where we needed to be. He kept busy with making sure we all had bait on our hooks and was great at starting our day off well going over safety. We enjoyed him as a captain—would definitely book again as long as we could get Justin! The last catch of the day was a baby King salmon which is out of season and was too small anyway, but he let us take a pic before throwing it back. Just an overall AMAZING experience! Thank you, Justin for helping us make such great memories!

My dad and I, who are very inexperienced with fishing. I fish a few times a year and my dad only goes out if it’s with me. We came out to Seattle for a week to spend some father-son time together, he lives in Florida and I live in Michigan. Our first charter landed us a King salmon and coho. The second charter was just after the short king season but we both caught a King salmon and despite having to release it the experience was amazing. The captain’s on both days were absolutely amazing, especially with helping my dad. As he isn’t as experienced the first day led to a few tangles and lost fish, but the captain remained patient and taught him better techniques and explained why things were happening rather than getting frustrated. By the second charter my dad was getting much better and with the help of our captain, Cam, only had one tangled line the entire 6 hour charter and only one fish got off. Despite a lot of dogfish stealing our bait Cam made sure we got our fish. Can’t recommend enough.

So right off the get go, this fishing team was AWESOME. We were scheduled to go on a Sunday but Captain Justin texted me and told me the weather was better the day before and recommended going on Saturday. Super A++. Then, when we were actually there we were introduced to Captain Thao, and man… what a dude. This guy lives fishing. He told us that the state salmon tests were poor and recommended doing Ling Cod instead. We started with flounder fishing for bait for the Ling Cod (which was already fun in and of itself) and then moved into Ling Cod.

Even if we had not caught a thing, Captain Thao was so energetic and positive it wouldn’t have mattered. But we landed two crazy large Cods. Such an incredible experience and what an excellent Captain!!

Capt Thao made the trip fun and enjoyable. It was freezing outside but his personality, patience and knowledge made the trip worth it. Our trip had so many highlights including watching Orcas chase salmon, seals in pursuit of fish, sea birds diving into schools of bait fish and of course reeled in salmon and founder. We will definitely be back and make sure to get Capt Thao.
