Make the most of your time in Seattle and go fishing with Cut Plug Charters. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Justin and crew can tell you all about them.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Chum Salmon, Crab, Flounder, Coho Salmon, Chinook Salmon, Pink Salmon, Dogfish, Lingcod, and anything else that bites. You'll target your catch by light tackle fishing, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Capt. Justin and crew believes in teaching kids to fish while they're young, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are permitted onboard — bring your favorites to stay fueled throughout your trip!
You'll be fishing aboard a 23' Grady-White center console with capacity for 6 passengers. It has downriggers seasonally, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are included, as well as lures.
Before coming aboard, it may be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
Don't leave home without sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and a hat. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Give yourself something to look forward to and book a trip with Cut Plug Charter’s!

My tow adult sons and I had gone out with Captain Bryan the day before (a great trip as well) so he already knew our skill level (adept) and fishing interest (highly motivated). We left the dock about 5:45 am and arrived at our desired fishing area, about 2 miles south of Cultus Bay, Whidbey Island by 6:30 before most of the maddening crowd arrived. Our focus was on drop fishing with bait (cut herring plugs!) for Coho's (Silver's) and Captain Bryan did an excellent job repeatedly finding and putting us on Herring bait balls at depth and keeping us away from the dog fish. Our biggest problem (if catching fish is a problem) was that we kept catching wild fish which, in this area at this time, you can't keep. Despite this, all three of us limited out by 11:15 when we had to return to dock. We wound up with 23 lbs of salmon fillets for two morning's work...not bad! Cut Plug is a very good charter company which has good, clean, well equipped boats and experienced boat captains. They provide a great experience at a reasonable price. As we told Captain Bryan, we WILL be back to fish with him again!
4 of us chartered with Captain Justin out of Shilshole. He recommended a 6 AM start rather than our scheduled 7:30 AM, with a hunch on an early bite. So glad we did! We had our first strike minutes after dropping our lines. Limited on coho within a couple of hours. Captain Justin was fantastic. he was a real pro, super skilled on board, and great rapport with the group. On top of that, the weather was awesome! I would highly recommend Cut Plug Charters for anyone looking for a great fishing experience on the sound!
We had friends visiting from inland and decided to try salmon fishing in the Puget Sound with no prior experience. Captain Justin provided everything we needed and more! He got us geared up and launched with no hesitation, took us right to his hotspot for Coho, and we got our lines in the water within 20min of our booking start. Fish were biting left and right, and before we knew it, we were at limit. Justin clearly has great expertise and awesome customer service skills, a rare and delightful combination. For a splurge experience, I would absolutely recommend and repeat!
non stop action from the get go. my sister caught first fish on first cast andmy nephew caught biggest fish on the last cast. we all limited out.
great trip on a beautiful day - we caught Coho and flounder. Captain Justin Andrews was great, very energetic and knowledgeable.

Thanks for joining Michael!

Captain Justing Wong and team has had fishing as a part of their lives; growing up we fished with our families. Being on the water, chasing fish, and learning new areas always had them coming back for more. Catching fish was one thing but showing people the Puget Sound and what we have to offer was definitely more fulfilling and rewarding. No matter which one of them takes you on a trip, they are patient, passionate about fishing and love to help people create a memorable experience on the Puget Sound!
