If you’re looking for some of the best light tackle fishing for Salmon and Lingcod out of Seattle, you’re at the right place. Cut Plug Charters specializes in hands-on, active styles of fishing in Puget Sound. Captains Justin Wong and other team captains have been fishing their whole lives, and even though they love the sport itself, they love sharing their knowledge with the customers and showing them the beauties of these waters even more.

Their boat is a 23’ Grady-White center console that can comfortably carry up to 6 anglers of all ages and skill levels. It comes with a 300 HP Yamaha engine, a live bait tank, an ice box, and an array of professional marine electronics and safety equipment.

Mooching for Salmon is the captains' go-to technique, as the angler is very involved in this style of fishing where you will entice the fish to bite, set the hook, and reel your fish in entirely by yourself! All of the techniques they use are about active fishing and keeping you involved and in the game while on the water with them. Sometimes trolling is the most effective way to chase salmon and the Captain will troll based on fishing patterns.

In addition to Chinook and Coho Salmon, you’ll also get to target Lingcod and Flounder season dependent. Our techniques involve bottom fishing, mooching and trolling primarily.

The captains will supply top-notch G. Loomis rods and Shimano reels, lures, and will even clean and fillet your catch. Live bait is seasonal, and they cannot guarantee it at all times, but if possible, captains will have it prepared before the trip. Fishing licenses can be bought on the boat for $13 per person.

If a shared charter is booked for 2 people and no other guests join you will have the private boat for 4hrs instead of a 6hr shared charter at no additional cost.

On shared charters the captain will choose what they feel will be most productive for the group.

Great Salmon Fishing Trip
6 Hour Trip – Shared on August 31, 20262 adults

Took my father (in his 70s) on a salmon fishing trip with Captain Justin and four other passengers in early September. Captain Justin has a good sense of where the fish are and the six of us each managed to hit our two fish quota. Captain Justin was especially attentive with my father to make sure he had a good experience, which I greatly appreciated. I highly recommend Captain Justin to anyone looking to book!

salmon here we come!
6 Hour Trip – Shared on August 15, 20264 adults

Had an awesome trip out today with Cut Plug Charter and Captain Cam! We caught the boat limit of coho salmon, and Captain Cam made the whole experience even better. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and knew exactly what he was doing. Highly recommend Cut Plug Charter if you’re looking for a great fishing experience in the area. We had a blast and will definitely be booking again the next time we’re in town!

A great day on the water!
4 Hour Trip – Private on May 26, 20262 adults

Captain Donovan was a great instructor and made the whole experience fun, comfortable, informative, and relaxed. We landed and kept three lingcod, which being from the East Coast we were catching for the first time, and several rockfish. The boat was immaculate, and the natural beauty of Puget Sound, including brief sightings of whales and porpoises, also added to an excellent day of fishing. Captain Donovan’s impeccable boneless filleting technique was another bonus. All in all, it was a great day on the water, a memorable 10 out of 10 experience!

Great experience!
6 Hour Trip – Shared on August 12, 20261 adult1 child

We caught a ton of fish, enjoyed our time and made great memories. The salmon were hitting and we had success harvesting them and everyone had fish to bring home. We caught several dogfish and even though they weren’t what we were after, they put up a good fight and made it entertaining and we can saw we caught a shark! Dogfish are better than no fish or slow fishing. Captain Brian was great at keeping us in the water no matter how many times we needed to be rebooked and baited!

My two son in law's had a Great Time
6 Hour Trip – Shared on August 27, 20262 adults

The son in law's had a truly great time. The captain knew just where to go and they caught their limit in just a short time. The one even caught a big beautiful King Salmon, but had to let it go for it was not is season. He was so proud of it and took him some time to real it in. The joy they got was worth it!!

Captain Justing Wong and team has had fishing as a part of their lives; growing up we fished with our families. Being on the water, chasing fish, and learning new areas always had them coming back for more. Catching fish was one thing but showing people the Puget Sound and what we have to offer was definitely more fulfilling and rewarding. No matter which one of them takes you on a trip, they are patient, passionate about fishing and love to help people create a memorable experience on the Puget Sound!
