The day you dream of when fishing.  We spent the entire trip on fish.  Started the day with a small troll to check for kingfish but conditions weren’t right per the captain and knew we should move on.  We were instantly catching snapper.  Captain Jeb knew right we were at and when we would carry off the spot.  Good weather today.  The deckhand Ethan took care of us the entire time keeping our rods in the water longer.  Our vessel was kept clean and well maintained throughout the trip.  Highly recommend this charter, it won’t disappoint !

This was hands down the best charter I’ve ever purchased. You can’t control how many fish are biting, but these guys knew all the spots and all the tricks, and it wasn’t long before we had as much as we could handle. Between everyone in the group we had 6 monster King, and 6 great snapper. And the action was constant.

Cannot say enough good things about Rodney and his son. They worked their tails off giving us an incredible, action packed, adventure and just a awesome time out on the water. They were very polite and cared well for us, making sure we were comfortable. We took this trip to fish in honor of my dad and release his ashes, and they were incredible to help us with it. This was perfect.

Made the wife and son very comfortable. Ask what you like to do or possibly catch on this trip . Our 9 yr old said Kings and Sharks ! Oh man did they put us in them we hit limit with in the first hour nothing but action !

We enjoyed a 12hr offshore fishing trip with the captain and his crew. Crew was super friendly and very helpful. Their experience made it so easy to find our target species. In fact, it was only May now and not many fishes are available but because of the crew’s expertise we came home with a full load of all kinds of fishes. To be honest, me and my friends feel blessed to be able to go on this trip, we even had a chance hook on a short-fin mako. Although we failed to capture it in a video or photo, it was definitely one of a lifetime experience. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a good offshore fishing experience to choose Oliva J Charters. I am planning to book with them again for my aggie graduation celebration with my classmates in the future.

First off, 10/10 experience with Captain Rodney and Jeb. We went for my bachelor party as a group of 6 with only 2 people having open water experience. Captain Rodney was SUPER helpful even before the trip as he made sure we all knew what kind of licenses to purchase. We wouldn’t have been able to keep fish as many of us had forgotten the red drum tags. When we arrived, we were greeted by Rodney and Jeb and they gave us the run down of the process. We were expecting rougher weather so they were ready with a trip plan that would keep us closer to shore. They got us all set up and then helped us as we fished for red drum. We each got to keep one and had all we could keep by 2 hours in!! Captain Rodney then gave us the opportunity to stay and co tinue doing what we were doing or explore further out since the weather had improved and had turned out to be a beautiful day. On our way out the seas were getting rougher than anticipated so Capt Rodney explained what was going on and had other destination options ready immediately. We got to one and got to catch a few red snapper (catch and release) before one of us got seasick and we decided to cut the trip a little short. They were super understanding and helpful all around. When we got back Jeb cleaned and fileted all the fish for us before we settled up and headed home.

We highly recommend this charter and hope to be back with them again.
