Olivia J Charters has got a new boat and its crew is inviting you aboard to have a fishing trip in Texas you won't forget! Captain Rodney Chapman takes you nearshore, offshore, to reefs, and to wrecks, starting out of Freeport. Join him for a fun-packed trip and make some lovely memories on the water!
Captain Rodney uses a restored 33' World Cat TE catamaran powered by 2 brand-new 300 HP Suzuki engines. This vessel is set up for bluewater deep sea trips and is federally permitted. It uses all the modern navigation electronics and features a Full marine Toilet, an ice-box, and a livewell. You'll also have a first mate at your disposal in case you need any help during the trip.
As the boat is federally permitted, you and the crew are able to travel beyond the 9-mile state water line and go after various Snapper types, Yellowfin and Blackfin Tuna, Amberjack, Grouper, and many more. To reel in your catch, you can bottom, deep sea, and drift fish as well as troll and jig. You choose if you'll keep the fish you catch and take it home. Hard alcohol isn't allowed on board but you're welcome to bring beer. Fuel is included in the price.
Before you depart, bring your licenses, snacks, and drinks. Captain Rodney will provide everything else needed for a great day on the water.

5 Hour Trip – Nearshore (AM) on May 31, 2025 • 6 adultsThis was by far the best charter I have ever had, even better than the one I took in the Florida keys. Rodney was an amazing captain and got us on the fish fast. After about 10 minutes of him getting the lines in, we had a fish on it. We caught multiple red drums, bonnet head sharks, and a couple black tip sharks. We were catching left and right and had to start releasing them! I would definitely charter with Olivia Charters again and especially with Rodney! Thank you again for an amazing experience!

8 Hour Trip – Offshore on June 6, 2024 • 5 adults • 1 childCapt Rodney and Josh were great. We were fortunate to get the first calm day of red snapper season. Rodney found 2 spots with fish we were happy with (I’m used to Colorado trout) but he decided to keep looking for the big ones and it paid off. It was all they could do to keep getting us bait as we were getting big bites immediately on every line. Pulled in some real nice fish (3-4 times the size we were originally catching) and hit our limit fast. We could have caught triple the limit. We then moved to kingfish and managed to land 6 (the ones we reeled in before the barracudas got them. Overall, awesome time. Perfect for salt water novices but I have no doubt Rodney can provide a great experience for any level of angler.

We caught some huge snapper, hung a big shark, and lost a few big fish. Couldn't ask for anything more from a fishing charter. I'd highly recommend them to anyone who wants to get out on the water and have a good time.

12 Hour Trip – Offshore on May 17, 2023 • 6 adultsWe enjoyed a 12hr offshore fishing trip with the captain and his crew. Crew was super friendly and very helpful. Their experience made it so easy to find our target species. In fact, it was only May now and not many fishes are available but because of the crew’s expertise we came home with a full load of all kinds of fishes. To be honest, me and my friends feel blessed to be able to go on this trip, we even had a chance hook on a short-fin mako. Although we failed to capture it in a video or photo, it was definitely one of a lifetime experience. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a good offshore fishing experience to choose Oliva J Charters. I am planning to book with them again for my aggie graduation celebration with my classmates in the future.

8 Hour Trip – Offshore on August 3, 2024 • 4 adultsEverything was great from initial contact to leaving with a cooler full of fish. Boat ride was smooth and had plenty of room to move around. First stop we limited out on red snapper, trolled around caught some king mackerels, moved on to vermillion snapper, and then on the way back in caught some mahi and triple tail. Couldn’t ask for a better day. Can’t wait for the next trip. Thanks again Captain Rodney.

Our half-day fishing trip with Olivia J Charters was absolutely outstanding! We had a group of four men, and there was more than enough room on the boat for everyone to fish comfortably. Captain Rodney is the GOAT!! He knew exactly where to put us on the fish, and thanks to his experience, we limited out on Red Snapper! We caught so many 14-inch snapper that by the end of the trip, we could tell whether a fish was a keeper before it even made it into the boat!!! What impressed us the most was Captain Rodney’s professionalism and commitment to safety. He made sure everyone was comfortable, informed, and safe throughout the trip while still making sure we had an incredible time on the water. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable captain, a great fishing experience, and a charter that delivers results, Olivia J Charters is the way to go!! We highly recommend them and can’t wait till next year!!
