My wife and I booked a full-day fishing trip, and it was an incredible experience! The boat was the perfect size—sturdy and comfortable, allowing us to venture into deeper waters for some exciting big-game fishing. It was also extremely well-equipped, with over six trolling rods, a deep rigger, and top-notch jigging/casting rods that helped us target all the species we had in mind.

Captain Zandre was fantastic—super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. While I didn’t catch my dream Sailfish, the day was far from disappointing. We landed over seven massive Mahis and Wahoos, keeping us on our toes and in action the entire time! At one point, we were even swarmed by a school of (what we believe were) giant Wahoos, which broke two lines and went after the deep rigger’s weight ball, leaving teeth marks behind!

Zandre also provided delicious chicken sandwiches, cold drinks, and fresh fruit snacks, which kept us energized throughout the day.

Overall, the trip was very well organized, and I highly recommend Captain Zandre and his boat. If you’re planning a fishing trip, I would suggest opting for this larger, well-equipped boat, especially if you’re after bigger catches beyond the reef. It was definitely worth every penny, and we’ll be back for another adventure on our next trip!

We had a good time, but fishing in a storm was not ideal.  Exiting the fishing boat and into the smaller boat was very difficult as the weather was horrible and sea extremely choppy.

It would have been ideal if the captain had given us the option to postpone for a few hours or another day. 

Captain Stef and his crew mate were great and dealing with Zandre was super professional.  We got 1 1/2 good sized kingfish (1 was eaten by a shark as we reeled it in).  Would definitely go out with these guys if I’m in Zanzibar next.

Our fishing trip with Beach Bums was great. They brought all kinds of food and drinks for us to enjoy on the boat. For the first part of the morning the wind was blowing fairly hard and we did not have any bites. However, around noon we found fish and caught 3 within an hour including a nearly 50 lb barracuda fish that put up a great fight!

Booked a half day afternoon trip in Zanzibar on a small boat. We decided against sail fishing and went this route. It started slow but the excitement picked up chasing the birds, and thus, fish. Captain Andrew was great! We definitely got our half day worth of fishing time. It was different sea fishing than we’d done before, and we’re happy we chose it.

Thanks to everybody, especially Liam, for helping me living this amazing experience. Despite a huge storm, he was always in good spirits and I was able to catch the fish I’ve been after for ages, an enormous GT!
