Captain John was probably the best charter guide I ever had and I have been on 50+ charter trips. He took my adult son and I out on a very windy day and both of us caught Snook, Redfish, Trout & Snapper. His boat, equipment and bait were excellent. Had a great day and booked another full day trip for next week!

August can be a challenge with warm water, hot days , tough conditions for anglers and captain but John made it an outstanding experience.  You won’t find a more patient instructor than John as we repeatedly missed strike after strike!!!! In the end we improved enough to catch a dozen keepers of including mangrove snapper and trout. John sent us to Pink Flamingo where they cooked our catch both blackened and fried….. Coming back for sure.

This is the second year in a row our family booked a trip with Captain John Middleton. He had us on fish the entire trip. We caught plenty of fish to take home and enjoy. We will definitely book another trip real soon. Give him a try he is highly recommended.

Did a half day trip this morning with my 7 year old son.  Captain John had us on the fish all morning.  We had a great time.  Captain John was very knowledgeable about the entire area and what the fish were doing.  He was also great with my son.  I recommend Captain John to experienced anglers looking to hit the fish hard and to those less experienced or with kids who want to have fun and see some action.  - Ryan from Maryland

Despite some pretty rough wind, Captain John managed to put on trout and even the unexpected flounder. He was knowledgeable, good natured and gave my my son and his buddy some really good fishing tips. Bent Rod Charters is a class act.
